Can't recall many times we feed off the spillage. In fact annoys me that we rarely have anyone at the drop of the ball.
This is what frustrates me about McCreery, instead of being front and centre or running by, he is more interested in playing on his opponent. He has to learn the balance between attack and defense

Cox needs to be given a go this week. Begg wouldn't be able to compete against the Freo big men, and it would be sending the lamb to the slaughter. Begg has a good future, but at the moment, imo, he is still a good 12 months away....
Cox has had a good 2 to 3 weeks at VFL level, and at least should be able to provide a contest in the ruck.
Play Cameron FF and Cox mainly in the ruck, it's a no brainer

For those taking both Madge & Macrae OUT…they can only be replaced with 1 player (as Macrae was Medical sub).
If you have 5 outs…can only have 4 in (as 23 players used last Friday).

Thursday night team:

Out: Madgen; C Brown; Macrae
In: Ginni; Pendles; Macrae; Cox; Ruscoe; McInnes

Roughy for Ruscoe if he’s fit. I’d give Elliott another week.

Reading now that Sidebottom is crook…. Maybe even if he’s right to go perhaps it’s an opportunity to rest him on the sub bench and give macrae another chance by starting him in the 22…..

Apart from that wacky idea…

In Cox Murphy Pendlebury ginnivan
Out Begg Madgen c Brown mcCreery

Sub maybe McInnes replaces macrae

Last man out a tough call but I think mccreery is surplus to needs at present and with Ginnivan and possibly Elliot returning, maybe he needs to go back to the VFL and start playing more offensively. He need to learn to hunt the ball more, not so much the opponent with the ball.

The other option to drop is the old favourite t brown but I think he needs a block of games to establish himself.

Collingwood will need to replace another key defender with Jack Madgen suffering a shoulder injury last Friday night. Nathan Murphy made a strong return from an ankle injury in the VFL last weekend, collecting 20 disposals and 12 marks against Footscray. Jack Ginnivan and Scott Pendlebury both missed last weekend due to illness but are set to return. Mason Cox dominated an undermanned Bulldogs ruck division and starred around the ground, finishing with 47 hitouts, 19 disposals and seven marks. Trent Bianco also produced another strong outing at VFL level. Jamie Elliott is pressing for a return from shoulder surgery and could come in for the trip to the west.

R9 medical substitute: Finlay Macrae (replaced Jack Madgen)

Verdict: Ginnivan and Pendlebury to return, with Cox, Murphy and Elliott promoted. Callum Brown, Beau McCreery, Aiden Begg, Fin Macrae and Madgen go out. - Josh Gabelich

That’s gunna be pretty close, assuming Elliott isn’t held back for another week. Although it’s four outs and five ins…..as macrae was starting sub last week they are going to have to find somebody else to drop. Maybe they hold over on Elliott.

I think it would be crazy to drop McCreery against a team like Freo who chip the ball around their backline.

Anyway, he only played one bad game and that was last week when he had been sick during the week and barely trained.

With his style of game, having his energy levels down is going to cripple him. If he's back to normal energy after the virus, they'd be mad not to play him.

Prefer T.Brown to go out and Macrae or McCreery stay in to be honest.

Idec if he's sick, name crispy on the bench and let him stroll out for a few mins. The games streak is the only thing we have going for us right now!

Does he have to sit on the bench? Maybe just set him up for a nanna nap on a massage table in the change rooms…. And don’t sub him on at all😀

I know it's a very important personal milestone, but if he's got the flu that's going around, surely sitting him on a plane for the flight to Perth with the rest of his team mates, won't be even considered. However if it's only a minor injury, then being the sub is the way to go.

I know. I was just kidding.

If he feels better in the next few days, he'll play. If not.. may have to break his record. But they'll give him every chance til friday.

Personal Learjet would suffice.
Then can sit in a parked Ambulance outside the ground.

Be Gurantee Loss then as just about everyone would get the Flu

Game on Sunday gives him the best Possible Chance

Is Sidey’s “sickness” a non-controversial, face-saving way of dropping him?

Easy - send him on a separate flight!
