A completely unnecessary and punitive punishment for an umpire who lost his mind. If every infringement of a rule has to be paid as a free kick fair enough, but that is not how AFL is officiated.

We’re 8 matches unbeaten. At least we’re not losing and even when we’re up against it we’re still getting something out of the game.

Harrison and Richards were the highlights of the night. Great to see them step up when the team is crying out for youngsters to step up. Both look like they will be significant for us if we’re to have any success this year.

It’s no wonder the umpires cop it from supporters, how you can pull a free kick out of the blue like that just shows that they are making it up as they go.
Multi million dollar industry and you have amateur decisions deciding games.

Meh, it’s all swings and roundabouts.

Last week the umpiring went in our favour when Rankine ran too far. Sure it was technically there, but it never gets called in those circumstances. Tonight’s call was also technically correct, but never gets called.

We were 25 points in front with 10 mins left. The reason we drew wasn’t because of an umpiring call.

We kicked 15 behinds. Including three (at least) that hit the post. Schultz missed a sitter in the last.

That is bullshit.
The decision was absolute rubbish. It got them going and cost us the game.

I'm betting by tomorrow morning there'll be plenty of clips of players not handing the ball back to the umpire and not being penalised.

He's the sort of guy that you pick up in round 3 or 4 of the draft. Freo are pissing themselves laughing.

Schultz had no say in his trade price. Yes we over-paid but blame Graeme Wright for that, not the player.

I can't see how it's time-wasting when the umpire has already blown time off.
Apart from that, I know of no other rule it could be. There's no dissent.
If he claimed it was time-wasting, he should lose his position on the panel.
Umpires inserting themselves into the game in that way is completely wrong.

There is no rule that says you have to give the ball to the ump.

The AFL will argue it was time wasting. It was not.
