Trades Round 11 Trades

Stef --> Goldy
Hartley --> Collins

If West is dropped I will keep Martin, fingers crossed Laird and Rocky are back this week.
Rockliff was on the traders podcast talking about West as 2nd ruck being important to lions structure. Don't think west is going anywhere.

Current trades are:
Brown > Collins
McGovern > Gray

May be a little early on the both of them, Brown may have another 90-100 against a poor Freo defence, but it leaves me with essentially 19 premos on field (I'm including Wells because he can easily pump put 90-100s)

Next 2 weeks will probably be downgrades so I can have close to 20 each bye round.

I've decided to grab cheap premos this week and have gone with Hewett to Armitage and M Brown to Wingard. Just hope they're still premos. Was thinking about Sam Mitchell over Armitage, but I have him in DT already and one Sam Mitchell is enough.

I'm wondering if this is the week that Sam Mitchell turns it around.

Was only about a month ago he was the most expensive player.

I cursed him and Parker by putting them in my team about 4 & 5 weeks ago. Last week I cursed T Duryea & T Walker scored ok on his first week in, this is an anomaly. Three weeks ago I got Sloaney and while he put in two some good weeks I thinking his 81 this week is the start of the curse.

For anyone thinking of Wingard he looks like making the team this week. Sorry to put the curse on him but I have to pick someone.

Coming into the byes and with a lack of new rookie options these coming weeks seem like important trades. Anyone have some suggestions for my trades this week, I have $90k in the bank. Would love to do a downgrade/upgrade somewhere, or should I be taking care of my non playing injured rookies (Sumner and D Mac)? My current bye structure is 12/8/10 so that's something I need to keep in mind as well. Would love some feedback :)

Last week I promised myself I'd go with a double rookie downgrade, really don't want to go into the byes with players not playing so I'm forcing myself to go with a double downgrade. Have gone:

Tom Ruggles -> Sam Collins
Tom Papley -> Darcy Tucker

That is of course on the basis that Tucker returns to the Freo line up after he was apparently told to work on the defensive aspects of his game, went back to the WAFL and has played some good games as of late going off reports. These trades would leave me with 302k to play with next week.

My bye structures are 11/8/11 which is getting their but not exactly ideal but with rookies like C.Cameron, Menadue, J. Smith & R. Davis having that first bye I'll look to ship them off over the next two weeks as I aim for a 8/10/12 bye structure, also hoping the cash I've now got in the kitty will make this easier.

Rocky also said he is going to score 180 points against Carlton...

I've held Sam Jacobs all year but I think this might be the week to get rid of him, still has a high-ish BE and gets rid of a round 13 bye player.
ATS im looking at McCarthy out, Paine in and Jacobs out, Boyd in (via some DPP shuffling).
Now have forward line bench cover with Paine too

EDIT. still have Hartley and Currie on my bench. Maybe I'll keep jacobs this week and do a double downgrade with two of McCarthy, Currie and Hartley...

Over the Byes is it best 18 anywhere on the field? I have 6 mids with Round 13 Byes, will that be problematic?

At the moment I'm sitting on 10/10/10 which is great, can shift players from Round 11 to Round 13 over the next two weeks to end up with 8/10/12.

should I grab suckling or wingard?

I'm rolling the dice with Wingard. BE of 31. Since he's been back from injury he's been scoring well. Except the first game back which is to be expected.

Kerridge (high BE) > Wingard
Hewwit > B. Williams
Leaves me with around 220k

OR

Kerridge (high BE) > Wingard
Wines > Treloar
Leaves me with 16k

Thoughts?

Also with Port deciding not to play a ruck I might start M Cox on the field.

Yes players need to be on ground to score. Therefore you need to spread byes roughly not only over rounds, but positions too basically. There is no point for instance having only 1 bye player for round 13 in one position, as you would need to have a playing option on bench, and his score will not be able to be included in Best 18

Yeah thought that was the case. Not too concerned because I can just shift players to other Byes as they expire.
