After a much better performance against Essendon in Round 11, the Tigers venture down the highway to Government Funded Park to face the Cats who have lost 4 straight games under Chris Scott for the first time since he became head coach. After a strong start to the season the Cats have lost to Melbourne Port Suns & Giants as they got into a tougher section of the draw. Unlike us the Cats are not really hampered by injuries with Dangerfield pretty much their only best 23 player missing with injury, while we are still missing a large chunk of our best 23. They will also be missing Blicavs and Clarke this week as both were handed a suspension for bumping Whitfield on Saturday. Surely they could have applied for the good guy discount yet again.

After a horror 2 weeks where the Dogs and Lions got hold of us, the Tigers played with much better effort and intensity, as well as better quality ball movement against Essendon and were right in with a chance until the last quarter, before the Bombers ere finally able to pull away. There were a few changes in the way we structured up against the Dons, with Balta heading back after Young was omitted and Samson Ryan came in as a second ruck/forward and while he didn't exactly stand out in combination with the move of Balta it gave us a better structure.

Due to another unfortunate injury with Tylar Young suffering an ACL injury in the VFL, Koschitzke was shifted into the back line and could come into the side this week as a defender to allow Yze to revert back to playing Balta up forward, which will no doubt cause much discussion among the faithful as to whether we should continue or not. Personally I'm in the camp of keeping Balta in the forward half as I feel his brain fades aren't as costly as they are when they happen down back.

Outside that we will also be missing Bolton this week due to concussion after he was cleaned up byLefau as he backed into a pack early in the last quarter. On a positive note we should be getting back Mansell and Graham this week, although some may not be so glad with that news given both have been whipping boys of sorts this year. Whether people like it or not both are part of our best 23 at the moment and should be coming back in when fit. It will be interesting to see who goes out though.

Predicted Changes
Out: Bolton (concussion) Cumberland Sonsie (both omit)
In: Mansell Graham Smith

B: Miller Balta Brown
HB: D.Rioli Vlastuin Short
C: Ralphsmith Baker McIntosh
HF: Mansell Pickett Campbell
F: Lefau Martin Ryan
R: Nankervis Prestia Dow
INT: Broad McAuliffe Green Graham Smith

Smiths form has been outstanding at VFL level and he deserves an opportunity to debut so I'd bring him in for a run of games leading into the bye. While the idea of Balta going back forward and Koschitzke coming into play in the back line could work, I'd like to see a couple more weeks of him at VFL level in the role to ensure that he is playing the role well. We've used Pickett in run with roles in recent weeks and I'd send him to play on Stewart in the Cats back line as he is the one who sets up a lot of their rebounding and intercept marking. If we can take him out of the game by having someone sit on him it could help us pull off what would be an upset win.

Given how much pain we have caused the Cats in our premiership years, it would be nice to add some pressure on to Scott by handing the Cats their 5th straight loss and get some manner of revenge for all the times they have put our coaches in the hot seat when we were struggling but I get the feeling the Cats will be fired up to stop their slide. I don't see this one being a blow out, and we will push the Cats until well into the last quarter if we bring the effort intensity and ball movement we showed on Saturday night against the Dons.

Sadly, the "Richmond Man" is hobbling on crutches for this year.
Injuries aggravate further injuries.
Almost as many injured at Punt Road as the Bourke St disaster.

So the AFL has announced that there is going to be a change to the holding the ball interpretation starting this weekend and to really ram home the message to Richmond and our fans have decided that we get the following umpires

11 - Curtis Deboy 13 - Nicholas Brown 15 - Mathew Nicholls 38 - Matthew Young

Someone posted this online. This is the view for a section of the new Duckwood stand. You have a giant pole blocking a huge chunk including the goals and missing a whole section near the boundary line 😅😅😅 htf did the Romans and 3rd world countries not manage to not make ballsups like this? Saw Dua Lipa last year last minute $49 obstructed view tickets. Only found out when we got there obstructed meant slightly angled back of stage with full view of the area they did quick wardrobe changes...... I tried not to look 😊😊😊😊

Would never attend this place, not even if someone paid me. Terrible venue.

It’s going to be unwatchable from the first minute

My tip is that if, and it's the biggest IF possible, we get something close to 50/50 umpiring we will knock these jokers over.

They were handed the softest of soft draws (by the way after finishing 13th last year, how did we end up with the 3rd hardest FIXture ?!?) which inflated their position early on but have been rubbish the last month against decent sides.

For those that like a punt, unlike me, we are @ $10 ! with the bookies and the Scats are $1.05. After our performance last week (admittedly against the AFL's second most over rated side) that seems like outrageous odds. We are nowhere near as bad as that (decimated by injury) and the Tigers/Yze MUST be hungry to taste a win.

The Scats are flat, let's bury them on their own dung hill. Go Tigers ! 💪

Delicious

Imagine if we actually rolled these campaigners this weekend

We don’t forget either, turd.

“A CRAZED footy fan who spat at and gouged the face of a Richmond cheer squad leader has been revealed as the same man who has harassed women and relentlessly stalked former AFL champion and media identity David Schwarz.

Convicted criminal and Geelong supporter Steven Robert Elworthy has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for the vicious assault on Brett Beattie, a Tigers fan and regular caller to SEN radio, better known as “Trout from Woodend”.

Elworthy, of Mill Park, had already served time for stalking and just a week before his latest sentence he was in court again on similar charges, for which he was fined just $500.

Mr Beattie said Elworthy “hunted” him down, with security footage showing the obsessive man waiting at the back of the cheer squad during the August 14 match at Kardinia Park last year.

“He attacked me because I was an SEN caller. I didn’t know him, he actually came down screaming and carrying on and saying, “Where is Trout from Woodend, where is he?” Mr Beattie told the Sunday Herald Sun.

“And he sprayed me for about 40 seconds, gave me a (verbal) blast … and he spat in my face and my eye and my mouth.”

Mr Beattie, 53, said he held on to the enraged Geelong fan who then tried to punch him before the pair tumbled down the stairs.

“And he started gouging my face so I tried to get him off and he got ripped off and the coppers got him,” he said.

Victims have told the Sunday Herald Sun they fear for their safety as Elworthy’s erratic behaviour escalates despite him being charged previously on more than 100 counts of stalking and related offences.

It is believed the obsessive man could now be slapped with a life ban from all Geelong games, with the violent incident likely to be raised at next month’s board meeting.”

Just a typical Corio bogan. What would happen to me if I posted on Geelong ‘s board?

$10 odds means that very few people are betting on us. Last week I think it was about $9. It seems that richmond fans have realised that its a waste of money betting against the umpires. The bookies are beening forces to offer big odds to try to get us to bet. If we continue to not bet, then the bookies will have to put pressure on the AFL to stop the umpire bias against us. Interesting last week we actually won the free kick count although Essendon got three free s that resulted in goals. Keep up the good work tiger fans and keep your money in your pockets until the umpire bias is well and truly ended.
