Round 13 trades

well, for the 2nd week running i've decided to hug my trades
(8 trades left, 30k in the bank)

there was a tempation to go Palmer -> Carrazzo this week (1 trade)

but i will 'hold' in anticipation of landing 1 of K.Cornes, Bartel, Corey next week.

i am counting on Palmer to move up to +350k, and 1 of the 3 to come down to -380k.
(fingers crossed... for a Bartel *choke*)

:D

I have $467k to spend on a midfielder to upgrade J.McDonald

I only really want to spend about 400k max so that I have cash left over to upgrade a 7th back/fwd in future.

I am deciding between Kornes/Bartel/Murphy.

Can someone convince me to pick one? :D

Kornes down on form, has upside in the back half of the year and proven track record.
Bartel down on form, is blocking for Ablett, suspected injured (I reckon ribs), has upside and scope to come good after a break/time to heal.
Murphy playing like Corey last year (3rd mid - no tag), playing well above previous form - could be a breakout year, could be good form.

This week's teams have got me thinking should i trade tippett>valenti and cotchin>ward and then with about 220k in the bank start upgrading next week. 9 trades left 9,900 in bank. If N.Thompson plays i'll cop just the one zero, or should I downgrade one this week and trade hmac and then downgrade one next week. if i do both downgrades this week it uses up an extra trade but will allow me to get a better idea of how players are performing and give me more options like next week hmac>sandilands and thompson>riewoldt. Thoughts? thanks

7 trades left 493900 in the bank.

my team isnt the best, so how can i improve. i need to win at least 1 of the next 2 games against guys who ave bout 1800
my last 4 games should all be wins.
Im happy with my rucks, and mostly with my forwards.

backs --> Osborne, Mattner, Hargrave, Kennelly, ibbotson, riggio, urquhart, Emg --> pfeiffer and proud

ctrs --> Ablett (C), stevens, kelly, Dal santo, judd, armfield, Emg --> callan, mcNamara

Rck --> simmons, lade Emg --> kreuzer, Renouf

Fwd --> franklin, didak, porplyzia, B johnson, J broen, rioli, dew eemg --> thompson, tippett

trades im thinking of this week are dal santo for S Black & proud for a backman. (who would you suggest). I was looking at gilbee, johncock, milburn, fisher or wheatley

im looking at trading up callen for B harvey, J corey or b kirk and either kennelly/riggio/urquhart for a better defender depending on how things go next week

and then one of dew/thompson/rioli downtraded & one of them up traded the week after. hopefully for someone like pav or richo if I have enough money left

which will only leave me with 1 trade for the finals, is this a good move i could i do it better.

I only got rid of C cornes out of my line up last week.

Hey guys just wanted to get some advice on my team. Im playing for my league and at the moment am on top a game clear, but its a very competitive league.

You guys think these trades are any good:

Tonight:
Dal Santo ---> Butler
Kosi ----> Brad Johnson

meaning I'll be playing Kreuzer and Tippett to cover for H-Mac + Cloke.

Then next week:
H-Mac ----> Cox

??

I need to decide between Corey, Bartel, Cornes and Marc Murphy (or any other similarly priced midfielder) for an upgrade for Ibbotson.

Anyone have any compelling reasons to pick one over the others?

(It's a lovely problem to have, but tricky nonetheless.)

Have decided to bring buddy in today to complete my forward line. Who should I should trade for him, Dew or Rioli?
I think Dew has the potential to score more points but Rioli is more reliable when you consider Dew's dodgy hamstring...

What do you guys think?

Dew. Rioli is a much better reserve

Rioli for sure has been much better this year & Dew is an injury waiting to happen

I've got 7 trades in hand at the moment & need to upgrade myers but am currently fighting the urge to not grab Ablett for Palmer instead!

What made you come to the decision to choose Buddy out of curiosity coz I need to choose a forward?
After my first trade tonight I will have enough money to buy any forward, but was going to opt for a Johnson or a Chapman instead of Didak/Buddy/Richo.

Johnson and Chapman are hitting some good form, but for me my decision was based on BIG scoring potential (which buddy has) and also durability as this will (hopefully) be the last trade i make in my forward line as i am down to 6 trades. Put simply, I wouldnt trust Johnno's or Chapmans bodies (even though i have had Johnson since the start of the season).

My final forward line will look:

Pavlich, S Johnson, Porplyzia, B Johnson, J Brown, B Franklin, C Rioli
Emg: Mckinley and Valenti

Thoughts on this:
Leuenberger -----> McEvoy/Renouf
Ellis----> Mackie/Milburn/other gun back

I am thinking it will be McEvoy and Mackie in, and then hopefully next week I can arrange a deal to get Rioli out for an awesome forward or Palmer to Kornes.

Actually, Just realised that Mckinley is only $16k cheaper than Dew. Should I maybe keep Dew and sell Mckinley instead?
Looking at the fixture, and assuming that I make the grand final :p
Round 22: West Coast v Geelong and Hawthorn v Carlton which tempts me to trade Mckinley instead.

Hmmm.... If only I had a crystal ball

I would wait and see what McEvoy does. Got a couple of weeks before his price shifts so you shouldnt make any rash decisions

Thats true however Ross Lyon does sound like he is keen on getting a few games into the kids now with the Saints looking pretty average and Leuenberger hardly setting the world on fire on my bench.

I'm just a little worried I might get eliminated because of my dicey backline with Ellis starting.
If i dont do this trade I can go Proud to Ward and then Ellis to P.Burgoyne.

Well if your still in the eliminator then you are doing better than me so I should probably be asking you the questions :p.
Depends where your priorities lie. If your going for the league win like I am then I would hold off, but if your still in the eliminator and you think it might be the difference between a win and a loss then do it

reckon leu. to renouf - unless you also have kru on emgs and then ellis to milburn so you can get a better forward for rioli. think you will get more points that way.

still cant decide on
palmer to swan
or
stevens to thompson/swan
or
myers to p burgoyne

probably go myers but the good captain option makes swan and thompson sooo tempting.

Farir enough mate, you've got a good forward line anyhow. I think I will end up choosing Jonno or Chappy for now. Once my other upgrades are done I will look at getting Richo, because at the moment I'm winning my league and Richmond play Melbourne in Round 22!

Cheers

I need to trade a at least two of: Stevens/Palmer/Griffen/Cotchin (all starting for me) in the next few weeks and planning to bring in at least two of Kornes/Gablett (if he drops in price soon :eek:)/Corey

Going to hold off on Palmer/Griff/Cotchin because they all have low breakevens whilst Kornes/Corey have a tad higher breakevens. Which of the above should i trade and for whom?
