I'd seriously contemplate bringing in Maric to play as a forward. He may be the last man standing for tall players but at least he offers another target (and a chop out in the ruck) to allow some of the small players to rove more when he brings it to ground and allow Jack to not be the only tall up forward. He isn't a bad kick at goal either

Except that hes spent and lost his jump sadly.

He wouldn't provide any of the bolded and would get destroyed in the ruck. He's cooked.

Going to be a close game, carltons midfield is red hot right now, krueze, Gibbs and Murphy all in form. Need a massive lift from cotch, Prestia and dusty.... And Edwards ffs.

Hoping the bye rust has been worked out of our systems including the mental demons as well.

Did i see somewhere that Prestia and Dusty aren't playing at 100% fitness?

Our midfield is probably our weakness but have done well last 2 weeks.
Spot on about the 3 players you mentioned...Kreuzer has been smashing most ruckmen so will be an interesting battle with Nank.

Do you guys ever tag? Commentators in our last few games have questioned why teams don't tag either Murphy or Gibbs when they're running hot.

Expecting cotch to cop a tag from curnow this week.

Blues midfield is well and truly in form and we need cotch nank prestia martin to have good games and beat murphy gibbs and kruzer. We need to find more ball.

Probably a mix between him and Dusty. Who's been in better form last few weeks?

Cotchin probably easier to tag since he's not as quick as Dusty and doesn't play forward as much...but Dusty has so much hurt factor.

Personally thought Dimma handled himself well "On the Couch".
Speaks really well and you can clearly see that the lack of a second tall forward is causing him some massive headaches.
Was confident on Dusty as well which was re-assuring.

Good interview.

Drop George - has been down for a few weeks and whilst the other smalls were pretty quiet on Saturday, he was the only one not to lay a tackle.

We're TOO small up forward, no need to overdo the 'mosquito fleet' gimmick in the face of actual balance. Give him a rest and maybe rotate him in later in the season.

Id say dusty is harder to tag so might as well tag cotch and curnow has done it well before.

We haven't really had a solid list of 22 under his reign.

We miss players such as Vlastuin who provide some grunt and allow Dusty to go forward as Dimma mentioned.

Yep, I agree that he is cooked. I do back him to provide more than the alternate though (Chol). In saying that, hearing Hardwick say Chol was being talked about in selection this week is music to my ears. I hope he gets picked but I can see Carlton being all over him. In this sense I feel the more mature body of Maric will provide a better target than Chol.

Not disappointed at all if Chol is picked though.

hope townsend plays this week. wanna see him murder some campaigners like he did in the vfl. needs to take out their bench so when we're cooked at the end theyre also down 3 players
Imagine him mowing down somebody like a Jack Silvagni. That would start WW3.

How did he win the rising star this week , I know he's young etc but I think he will be average player at best .
I think he'll be ok but yeah there is a bit of a media love affair.

Will be a massive game for Ben Lennon , Will it be his last chance to save his career ?

With the new alex rance (jones) taking Riewoldt which player will get the job on the Tigers VFL champion goal kicker
Plowman,Marchbank,Weitering ?

Anything less than 4 goals from Ben will be a disappointment with all the fuss made about his VFL form

Im expecting Ben Lennon
11 Kicks
7 handballs
5 tackles
4 inside 50's
4 goals
2 behinds

Well he had 13, took 6 marks kicked 2.2 and kicked the match winner, wasn't an unbelievable performance but not sure there was anyone else, Bolton probably would've got it if you guys got the result... Sorry not sure If I can post here!!

Yer it's preview thread you can post on it .
A lot of hype around him but guess that's media building him up to , I just don't think he's going to be anything special . I think he will be an okay player but not a gun like everyone is saying he was going to be .

ND’s prediction
I don’t see us winning this game at all, I mean, Carlton beat GWS FFS, they are the real deal! In fact, I would not be at all surprised if they win the flag next year. They have the best defender in the comp, even better than SOS and Matthew Scarlett, Casboult’s no longer a spud and is clearly the next Tony Lockett, Gibbs no longer wants to play for Adelaide because he know they will be a powerhouse, they have half the GWS reserves squad (WOW most impressive recruiting strategy ever!) AND they have the greatest coach in the history of the game! As for us, we are all a bunch of overrated spuds, none of our kids have any potential and will turn out to be spuds, and even Rance is overrated. I don’t see how we have a chance against this sleeping giant of the AFL quite frankly and I will eat my new pants AND jocks if we happen to get lucky.*

Carlton by 150 points**

*lol scum
** Richmond by 20 points

Honestly I don't think anyone thinks he will be a superstar or anything, well I don't anyway... I think like most on here that he will be a pretty decent player but not a gun by any stretch, Kicking match winners isn't bad early on in his career. Btw I don't think we need to tag Cotch, we really really need to stop Dusty and that's an obvious statement but not much else to say, the guy buried us in round 1... Sam Lloyd seems to get hold of us as well, we seem to struggle with small forwards this year so hopefully you guys go tall...

How both teams can win

Richmond
Just by playing similar to how we did round 1 and most games this year. Fast, direct, attacking footy, for four full quarters Probably the best thing for us would be to take it easy (though not too easy) for the first half, then gradually building up rather than coming out too strong at first only to be worn out come the second half.

Carlton
I haven't really watched Carlton play so I can't really comment too much here. To beat us they just have to capatilise on our dumb footy at times, especially if we have a second half melt down like we have in so many games, shut down Dusty/Cotch and they may have a chance.
Carlton will seek to do the exact opposite - slow, indirect, defensive footy.
