He just gives you nothing though BB. He had no impact at all over the game today, and whilst he wasn't alone, he should be delivering more than he is. I agree that Pagan is playing him out of position, and I think a week or 2 in the reserves might just give him a wake up call.
Usually he gets criticized for being loose and unaccountable and allowing his opponent too much freedom. So did that happen? How much impact did his opponent have? How many players beat or limited their opponent?

If you think he'll be dropped this week I'm more than happy to bet you he won't!:p

Tend to agree.
If he can do a similar job on Bruce to what he did on Black it will go a long way to helping us win.

Exactly. He's our scapegoat and always his name is thrown up, regardless of how he plays. He definitely wasn't our worst on the weekend, and will not be dropped.

Assuming Walker will miss again.

Back: Anderson O'hAilpin Bannister
HB: Scotland Thornton Gibbs
Cent: Simpson Carrazzo Russell
HF: Wiggins Hartlett Houlihan
For: Betts Waite Fisher
Ruck: Ackland Bentick Murphy
Int: Grigg Kennedy Bower Koutoufides
Emer: Blackwell Saddington Young

In: Bower Grigg Anderson Kennedy
Out: Fevola Saddington Lappin Young

Would like to give a couple of others a rest too but we don't have the depth. Walker will replace Bannister if he is fit.

Definite Ins: Walker (Going on what Pagan said)
Definite Outs: Fevola

So what I'd like to see
Out: Saddington, Fevola, Bannister, Lappin, Young
In: Walker, Grigg, Anderson, Bower, Kennedy

I think I read that Anderson re-injured his hammy yesterday...

Young - 2 goals and named in the best, can you drop him?
Anderson - reportedly injured a hamstring

Would Edwards be a chance to replace Waite on the HF line if Waite starts at FF?

Think Ando did his Hammy again based on the reports from the Ants thread. Lappin may get a reprieve.

I like the idea of Banno on Robbo to free up tex for the middle, but he will be on his last chance. Needs to keep this up for a new contract.

Re: Side this week:

This is the side I'd play this week. I would have liked to give some more of the young guys a go but in truth none of them deserve it except for Grigg and maybe Blackwell or Austin. I'd also love to be able to drop some other poor performers but there is no-one to replace them with.I'm still concerned that I've gone to tall.

B B.Thornton S.O'hAilpin H.Scotland
HB R.Houlihan A.Hartlett S.Grigg
C K.Simpson A.Carrazzo B.Gibbs
HF R. Young J.Waite S.Wiggins
F E.Betts B.Fevola B.Fisher
OB C.Hackland A.Walker M.Murphy
I/C Kouta J. Russell A.Bentick L.Blackwell

In: S.Grigg (has been impressive and deserves a go)
L.Blackwell (at least he contributes and runs all day)
Walker

Out: Saddington, Lappin, Bannister (may be safe though as he is a good matchup for Robbo)

In analysing some of the positions:

Sentanta at fullback: This is where he should be developed as we desperately need a negating defender to take on the monster fowards. He is not going to be a ruckman so I don't want us wasting anymore time playing him there. He should go with Neitz all day.

Ackland in the ruck: Unlike previous weeks I'd like Ackland to tough it out playing about 80% (very hard I know)of the game in the ruck. I'd play Hartlett and Kouta there for the other 20%.

Hartlett: Should play centre half back if there is an opponent for him.

Gibbs: Enough of this back pocket sh^t. Play him in the midfield. He's learned enough in the backline.

Walker: I'd like to see him play on the ball for 4 quarters. Against Port he played very well and I'd like to see if he is up to it again.

Waite: I'd actually consider puting him in the middle for extended periods to see how he goes.

There is also an argument to bring in Kennedy but he did nothing in the VFL today. I might comtemplate bringing him in as a backup ruckman or possibly just playing him at CHF for 4 quarters. He might play better at AFL level as the side is not as unbalanced.

Thoughts?

A couple of new isssues to address, Fev is out this week, Neitz probably won't play.

F: E.Betts Waite Hartlett

Would like to see Hartlett get a go in the fp and waite at ff. Grigg should get a short run this week as well.
IN: Walker,Grigg,Kennedy
OUT: Fevola,Bannister.

Re: so who comes in this week?

Well one would suspect if Walker is fit again he'll be in.

The question is who else do we drop?

I'd have Waite at Full Forward this week and bring in Kennedy at CHF.

kennedy is the logical choice, but does josh deserve to come in, i see he had a quiet day for the ants this week, then again, so did most of the team.

The reason I'd go for Josh, during the weeks he was playing prior to the Fev decoy thing, Fev was focal point.

Now Josh if he has more brains than Fev (99.999999% guaranteed) will know this is his chance to be that focal point and strut his stuff.

CMON JK!

Re: so who comes in this week?

Out: Fevola

In: Kennedy

Is the only definite change. Players like Houlihan and even Scotland should be dropped because they don't play for the club. Grigg could replace one and we know that he would play with intensity and for the club. Anderson would replace the other, but he's injured. Walker, if fit, could replace one of them.

I know I'll get shot down for this, but I'd rather Teague in the team for Houlihan and Scotland-at least Teague would play for the team.

Re: so who comes in this week?

Given the Dees lack of height up forward we could afford to go a little shorter this game, so Saddo may be "released" to the Ants.
Denis flagged wanting some pace back so:

Out: Fevola, Saddington, ?Young
In: Kennedy, Bower/Grigg, Walker

If walker is fit he may come in for Young, otherwise Grigg may do the same.
Lappin is lucky Fev has had such bad week. I think they will leave him in to see if he responds to fev's suspension by putting in an effort.
Otherwise he could be next, and his career over.

It would be cruel to play a player when he himself, the team, and the supporters know he'll be delisted next year.

Much rather have a young kid sit on the pine for 80% of the game and get a feel for the big time.

Like Bannister? We need players who have a heart and are willng to play for the team rather than for themselves. Teague is that man.

Much rather have a young kid sit on the pine for 80% of the game and get a feel for the big time.

If the kids are ready, then and only then should they be considered. There's no point having a kid sit on the pine for the majority of the game. Let them develop in the Ants where they will play more than 5 minutes.

At the end of the day, right now we need players that play for the jumper and are willing to put their body on the line for the club. Right now, I'd prefer Teague in the team to both Houlihan and Scotland. Those 2 are meant to show leadership and experience-and they show nothing of the sort. They are a disgrace.
