Nothing like getting a tiny bit of momentum and then giving them two shots in the last minute. Our old nemesis red time strikes again

Counterpoint: we've only got a few yet somehow we keep bringing the ball up the field through them rather than focusing on opening up our good kicks.
Our KPDs are average at best, but that's standard.

Hipwood is still rusty.

Answerth and Tom Berry the only two that I'd say are genuinely below average for their role. Coleman is good but thinks he's great. It's more that we don't think things through.

Leaving. Second game in Melbourne this year. We are bigger down hill skiers than Port.

You said we needed to look beyond Fagan, at the board.

Who on the board should be under pressure?

A figurative board… like a board game. “Look at the whole board” is a chess coaching mantra.

We need to reinvent our midfield and our backline. So slow to move the footy and little to no defensive run. Is Matho injured? We need some pig dog aggression in the guts. Thought J.Berry would play that role, but Fages seems pretty set on playing him on the fringes.

Rich does not even use his kicks anymore. He has given up his point of difference.

Rich has lost about 3-5m off his distance this year. You can see it earlier games where he'd go for a long kick that he'd nail last year and now drops it just short. So instead of it cruising a foot above a defender, it hits their hands. He's playing it safe, which honestly is the right thing to do but it does mean he's not the game breaker he was the last few years.

Unfortunately he's been beyond invisible when we have thrown him in there over the last half decade. He holds up well as a wing at least.

Important not to drop our bundle in the last quarter. Pinch a couple of goals back and get the score looking a bit more respectable. We usually scrap a game out.

I know we play this grind based percentage style football that works more often than it doesn't and its clearly drilled into the players but we need some sort of circuit switch plan b type thing. Where we throw our formation around for a 5 min period and just play on at all costs and play some chaos ball. Then revert back. The oppo just read it too easy. If you set up down the line you can just lock us in. Then ramp up pressure on Neale and you have us. No point having half our cap on forwards if they get nowhere near it.

List management
Apart from CEY, our trades and free agent acquisitions have been good.

Our drafting has mostly been good. Our pick trading not so.

My beef has consistently been with Fagan/match committee not playing the younger players who might improve us in the future (and some of that future is now), and just as importantly playing them where they’re needed.

No. You can't throw in the towel.

They are getting outplayed, but their still out there playing their hearts out.

They need you dude.
