Yes, it has a massive effect. I can't remember the exact stats as I did them years ago, but it was something like teams coming off the bye (when only one did) lost 68% of the time.

And for the chicken littles that worry what this means for DGB go listen to Sam with Cornes and King last Friday, who outlined that there is no rush to play Denver, just as there wasn’t with Sic back when he was the same age and learning.

Morrison was sub for 2 weeks then went to Box Hill. Macdonald was sub 2 weeks then came into the team. I think Mackenzie will come in, he's simply too important to be dropped. He helped us turn the game last week. It could be Bramble that comes out, but it's not really a straight swap.

I'd love for them to find DGB a spot for this game, but Frost probably pulls rank.

The Sic tackle was good. A lunge at the hips that happened to hold a hand followed by a roll of the player on top of himself.. which is good… the last part with his head hitting the ground. I challenge anyone to find that tackle having ever happened in AFL In the past… so we are not talking about a re-occurring tackle. Everyone thought it was a good tackle... umpire, commentator.. everyone!!

Except the lawyers. Fxck I hate the influence of the worst type of lawyers (most Lawyers serve a good purpose).

Tough game, I reckon.

Coming off the bye - perhaps the biggest challenge based on previous results.
Against a Gold Coast side that's beaten us comfortably last 2/3 encounters.
Gold Coast will set themselves after a poor performance against Carlton.
Likely no Sicily.

But, it's another challenge and I'm just so excited to see how we handle it. It's evident we're learning with each game.

Agree with what's been said about this game. Tough to head up there coming off the bye. Young teams generally don't travel well in any case, and if Sicily is indeed out, I'm tempering my expectations.
