Metricon still a tough place for opposition teams to go and win.

Greasy, humid, conditions that the Suns are used to. Hence them being undefeated in Darwin too.

Not confident, but hopefully the kids can give it a good shake!

Mate, its like Adelaide at this time of year in SE Qld. Maybe a bit warmer but the skies are clear and there is little if any real humidity.

We can't have that as an excuse as on Sunday, it will be just like it has been for the past week come game time - around 20 and dropping as the sun fades, mid 30's humidity and absolutely perfect for footy.

Hoping we have our best team of the year available and we come away with a win.

Don’t see how we will win on Sunday. Without Sicily our team just looks very deflated and there is no structure without him. I think we will bring in frost and cj and hopefully that helps.

Seemed to be a suggestion on the AFL website that CJ might still be unavailable for selection again? Anyone got info?

I think Frost will come in for this game, but geez I'd love to see DGB.

100% agree. I honestly don't know how people are getting this so wrong so often. Like I said in another thread comparing winter weather up here to winter weather in Adelaide (where I grew up and still visit regulary) and the only difference in winter weather is that up in SEQ you get a lot more sunnier winter days and as a consequence less rain but as soon as the sun drops the temperature drops like a stone. The other day I awoke to frost on my car's windscreen must be all that heat and humidity! :laughv1:

We are in the sub-tropics not tropics, there is big difference. It just happens to be that I also spent a couple of years up in Darwin so believe me I know!

This time of year is THE perfect time to playing up here for a southern team as any benefit teams based up here may get from playing in hot and humid conditions during the warmer months is completely nullified by the simple fact it is winter.

Forget Sunday's result - this is going to be a hell of a tough game. Suns have had the wood on us, they on the rebound, playing at home, and we are coming off the dreaded bye.

Some tough and maybe unpopular calls at selection:

Ins:

Frost
CJ
Ward

Outs:

Sis
Bramble (unlucky)
Butler (unlucky)

whaaaaa??

CJ goes through Box Hill. Form was down pre injury. Proves himself.
Butler goes nowhere.

Can get behind Ward for Bramble, though he's not really a wing.
Frost or DGB for Sic.

Everyone hates lawyers until they need one.

Agree with what's been said about this game. Tough to head up there coming off the bye. Young teams generally don't travel well in any case, and if Sicily is indeed out, I'm tempering my expectations.
Yeah to defend yourself from other lawyers.

He is way down the list in deserving a game.
Apart from having hamstring issues he hasn’t done a lot wrong. Looked good playing down back from what I saw of last weeks Box Hill game. Warmer QLD climate would be good for his hamstrings. He did well last year when played as a defender in the seniors.
Otherwise I’d be happy with DGB, just not keen on Frost as I can’t see him being part of our future.

Doubt we're bringing him back after 1 return game from injury followed by a bye. He's not ready, he hasn't made his case for selection.
