Any takers now for throwing "all their chips in" to get Chris Scott and giving Fages the boot?

20 disposal, 9 contested, 4 clearances, 4 goal assists and kicked 1.2.

Rayner had a very good game and it wasn’t completely noticeable. He goes missing in games but I actually think he puts out a good/great game for every 1/2 game he doesn’t impact as well. Much better than every 3/4 games we saw last years.

Our biggest win at Adelaide Oval, beating the 52 we beat Adelaide by in 2021 and the 48 we beat Port by in 2019.

Also our biggest ever win in Adelaide, beating the 69 we beat Port by in 2006 at Moron Park.
And the highest score kicked at the Adelaide oval by a non-adelaide team. That is a cool record to hold.

Happy to discuss the subject matter.

They kicked 6 goals to 3 quarter time with probably over 30 inside 50s

That's 20%. It's perfectly fine

Happy to concede the scoreline flattered us despite not playing with the same intent in the last but at least 90% of the game we won

Just enjoy it

Gee's I enjoyed that. Just belted them up. The boys put their bodys on the line, copped some heavy knocks, but continued to attack the contest. They were tough, classy and ruthless. All players were good or better, even Bailey n Mckenna, both showed significant improvement. That's why you show faith in good players.

A very good win against a top 8 side with a very good midfield, away from home. We look so much stronger in the middle with Berry in there. It's working very well. 9 or 10 goals again from the 3 tall fwds. 3 weeks in a row now I think. What a difference that makes. Team defense was so much better. Bruce pulled off another shoulder in, rib rattling tackle. He'll have the opposition looking over their shoulders if he keeps that up, like Robbo did. Importantly, they look like they're enjoying their football again, enjoying the challenge.

It's interesting to look at expected score

It indicates a closer game in general play. They also got a shot at goal from 60% of their inside 50 entries. This is concerningly high. Our 49% is still okay, slightly above average. But that 60% I think would be causing Fages a bit of worry, in terms of how that might look against a team with a better midfield performance against us.

I'm not a fan of the "expected score" stat, kicking for goal is a skill like any other skill, bad kicking for goal is bad footy as they say.

I like to go by the eye test and my eye told me today that we gave Port a good old fashioned shellacking.

I think that's a key.

The enjoyment to get out there and know you can play well is a big motivator.

It's a weird feeling coz we rarely keep our foot down even when going well in the last few years.

Looks like players are trying to make up for all the losses earlier this season and are going hard regardless of the scoreline. I like this new Brisbane Lions, this is a lot more fun to watch :)

I know it’s a pointless exercise in hindsight, but I do wonder if we had pulled the trigger on Berry into the middle 12 months ago, whether we’d be sitting here as the reigning premier. Can’t reiterate enough how impressive he is in there. Really, really hope he hangs around.

His shoulder was still no good last season. Could've lost him and not have the opportunity we have now with him on the ball

Yeah I know our hands were sort of tied with it at the time due to the shoulder, but you throw him in there GF day matched up on DeGoey instead of out of position out on the wing and it could’ve been very different.

Fages made some disturbing comments in his presser about Harris being the son he wants. Hugh, Bez, Cam and Charlie are going to be crushed by this betrayal.
