Fagan looks like he is going for

Option 3.
In: Lyons or Ah Chee
Out: Lohmann
Sub: Fort

We are a stronger team with Ah Chee in the side.

Granted, Answerth is a pet of Fagan’s, but he has to be a few places behind a couple in the queue. We don’t need to bring in a defender, especially one who butchers the ball as frequently as Answerth. Ah Chee is miles better as a footballer.
Great to see Ah Chee in the side.

Fort sub again while we are just using 2 forward talls.

We may get a full game for Fort in reserves and make Madden our sub.

We need Fort for the Demons game so better get more match practice into him. Back to back games as sub isn't ideal.

Right decision to bring in Ah Chee. Would have been silly to mess with the two tall set up which worked quite well against the Saints, especially against a running team like Richmond. All that's left now is the can of worms that is the sub, but I think we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

I wonder if having the 3 taller players as emergencies is for cover in case 1-2 talls are under a bit of an injury cloud off the 6 day break etc, otherwise it is pretty rare to see 3 talls listed as emergencies.

I like Ah Chee in. Great role player who can play all over the ground. Think we have always looked better with him as a defensive forward. Pressure goes way up.

Personally think all our sub options are bad. Gunston and Gardiner are just there as coverage for tall injuries. Both would be terrible options as sub. Madden just has pace but is a low impact, low flexibility option. Hes a bad tactical option as well.

Which leaves Fort as sub. Which maybe makes sense with only two talls. But it only works if you use him as a fresh player in the middle straight away. If he comes on in the 3rd then throw him straight into the ruck. Parking a sub at full forward is a waste of a fresh player.

Personally this is looking like another bad example of how to use a sub. We are not a smart team in this regard
