how the f*** would you be able to predict that this situation would play out before the season had even started? If anything, you would put your money on Jacobs averaging higher than Goldstein. That's just common sense. Jacobs averaged 115 in 2014, whereas goldy was going at much less. Jacobs also got more hitouts to advantage than goldy in 2014. Please explain.

Goldy managed to get to an average of 106 after averaging about 90 in the first half of the season when he was playing through a shoulder injury and playing with Currie as the second ruck. In the second half of the year he was up around 115-120 playing as a fit lone ruck. He was underpriced.

From memory Jacobs had a tap efficiency of 33% while Goldy was around 27%, which only equates to about 3 or 4 more effective taps a game. Last year was easily Jacobs' best year for tap efficiency however

Look, it was all a bit of luck, but the general feeling here was that every ruckman was going to score worse. I went Goldy over Jacobs because given his second half of the year I thought he was priced at about what he would score, even if he was to lose a few points with the new scoring. Jacobs I couldn't see much value in, but I guess it was a gut call.

Either way there's no way you could predict this sort of output from Goldy
