If players are holding arms on the blindside of umps before posession is taken and it spreads, the AFL have an optics problem.

Switch kowski is everywhere according to Healey. How come he’s still around? He’s Sam Newman vintage

My favourite thing about Healey is when he has random digs at left-leaning governments he doesn't like on the radio.

The AFL genuinely sucks at media personalities.

Our pressure and intent is awesome, can't fault it. Freo are a great team so it's an arm wrestle. They're troubling us in the air though, haven't seen us out marked like this for awhile and it's happening all over the ground. I can cop the D'ambrosio HTB but jeez the Worpel one looked harsh.

We are working a lot harder for our goals than they are. But a great effort to rest back control after they were on top from halfway through the first quarter.

We’ll need to do something about their aerial dominance. Making us look like Under 10s in the air.

Day, Nash and Ward doing some great work through the midfield. Need more contributors though.

So if a player is chicken winged, he must an attempt to kick the ball.
If he does that and misses his boot, that’s ok right?
Even though it should be incorrect disposal.
I’m confused.
And if you plant the foot to attempt to kick like they suggest, you create the mechanism that leads to a sling tackle. Genius stuff.

The change was only supposed to be timing. It seems to have subtle changes game to game

If you are being held before posession, and you can’t handball or kick properly, where’s the prior?

In our game, a kick is a drop from both hands not one.

If anything, ball up

Correct which is a joke. When a player is chicken winged without prior opportunity just blow the whistle for a ball up asap ffs!

No idea how he has a job. Smug campaigner who should have been moved on years ago. Can’t stand Russell or King either but Healy takes the cake.

I still can’t get over that disgraceful goal review.

The umpire gives a soft signal of touched.
So, by definition, the only thing that can overturn it is ‘the absence of evidence that it WAS touched’.

Which, IS WHAT WE SAW.
I don’t know how anyone could look at that footage and claim it was anything but not touched.

In one frame the ball is above Meek’s hand which is sweeping forward and not touching the ball. Then in the next frame the ball is clearly behind his hand and all fingers are still facing forward.

But also if you have any kind of rotational force on it and you go for a kick, you're likely to damage something structural in the knee. But that's not the head so the AFL doesn't worry about those anymore.

Exactly, do we want to use technology or not. Because if we do then that's the criteria we're looking at - fingers bent back. If they aren't then it = not touched. So many times it's used for touched when the fingers bend back so why isn't it the other way.

This is 100% the new interpretation.

Only if they are standing up…

If chicken winged and go to ground the umpire will blow the whistle in heartbeat and ball it up.
