How much consideration should go into selection of

(A) Best player by position or

(B) Player who is working hardest and able to get the best out of themselves by position?

100% option (A) / 0% option (B) is kinda traditionally how St Kilda have rolled.

0% option (B) / 100% option (A) is kinda the early days of Nathan Buckley.

We have no insight into the factors that go into getting the balance right (ie: Selection integrity). It includes accounting for player illness, players carrying an injury, off-field factors, player development, players understanding a gameplan, player fitness. We have very little knowledge of any of this stuff.
