Was he ever this bad for either of his other clubs. He's checked out and just collecting the cash. Him and Hanners could be paying for Dusty or an elite player. Instead we have two players who would struggle to get another contract another club. Hill is a Bryce Gibbs level sh*t trade right now.

His previous clubs highlights there are run downs, full bodied smothers... now it looks like just token efforts defensively. We need to get Sammy Gilbert and Lenny Hayes in for a refresher on how to tackle and smother!

shouldn't be a midfield regular, is all or nothing with the ball.
I love how much he's grown but when Hanners/Crouch are back he's better suited on the flank creating from there.

Think its best we move on and forget that game. Our disposal was the worst Ive seen from the last few years. Melbourne arent even that good but when you just hand the ball to a team constantly you dont really give yourself a chance.

The problem with forgetting these games is that we keep repeating the same gameplan errors every time!

Seb Steele billings members Wilkie again fantastic. But we got nothing from our bottom 6-8 which has been a strength in our wins.

Need to bounce back and hopefully write this off as an abberation. Every team has one. Right guys

Ryder and Marshall are needed badly, We struggled to get the ball beyond the half forward line and could not generate the entries needed plus had some bad skills at times off half back. Dees shut us down well and played better then us

We are lacking some flow in our game but that is footy.

I gotta say the highlight for me was a guy near us having a crack at a boundary umpire for taking too long to throw it in I think. Legit never seen that happen.

Some of the most useless ball movement I’ve seen in a long time. Whole team got infected by woefully bad use of the ball. Got us burned on turnover all day. Got way too fancy at times with some of the sh*t they were trying to do.

Wait til we get Hill under the roof with 20 minute quarters though...

Particularly in the first, we were second to the footy. Timid ball hunting will get us nowhere.

I think it’s also partly our game plan.. when we have the ball, all of our backs push forward to set up a high press ready to pressure the ball. When we have bad turnovers and there are many today, the opponents kicks very easy goals..

Somewhat agree. Against anyone else I'd call it an outlier, yes we are better than tonight. But we've dished up the same crap against the Dees for years now, just not learning.

Hill is a winger and is fed by a winning midfield, which we never had.
Same goes with the forwards if the ball is not being delivered they can not do miracles.

, Gresham , Jones just didn't get enough of the ball for midfielders and hopefully Crouch will improve this area.
The game was woeful and running a under-performing midfield with a ruckman that is most probably the worst in the AFL going by that game will not cut it.
Carlisle needs to come in , Ryder has to play and Crouch and Kent are must in's.
If Ryder doesn't play next week just play McKernan as a lone ruckman - Hunter must not play , Alabakis could of done better.
I fully expect this game is just a game to forget , playing a midfield with Oliver , Petracca and Gawn we were hoping a bit to much.
Add Marshall , Ryder , Crouch and Carlisle and it will be a different story.

Next week it will be turned around.

I for one, and very worried about Battles lack of development as a forward. He really doesn’t look like taking the game by the scruff of the neck..

Can’t blame Battle, when we start him on the wing, then bomb it on his head all day in the forward line, what chance does he have? ask him to lead/one-out and deliver the ball to his advantage and you’ll see a different player completely.. Personally think we should play Battle, Membrey and King forward.. So basically Marshall and Ryder swap in the ruck and play part time forward when one of 3 tall forwards get a rest..

I was there. We were appalling. Our field kicking atrocious. Again. Just like old times. You can coach every other aspect of the game but if you kick it back to them you're no chance.
We were so far off it in other areas too. Multiple guys running straight to the melbourne player with the ball and leaving others wide open. Just dumb footy.

But our field kicking..... what a shambles. Our decision making... pathetic. Anyone who doesn't think we should play Hanners if he's fit is off their head.

Ive been all for hill since he came to the club. Drop him for a week. He was dreadful.

Remember last year how Brad Hill apparently wasn't playing badly, we just needed to get the ball in his hands more? If anything we need to make a concerted effort to keep it away from him. Absolute butcher. Was playing like he was sent by Melbourne to take us down from the inside.

Yeah but last week his kicking percentage was top two in the wet.
