The only thing Maguiness offers is run, and Phillips can do that. People are too sentimental about keeping Maguiness in the team, and if anyone else had that performance people would be calling for his head.
I think it’s more that people see his upside and want him to get time in the seniors to improve.

You just reminded me; on Saturday at the game, I obviously had my Hawthorn Membership Card - not a membership card but a link that takes you to the Hawthorn FC website to download the app. My first surprise. What's the point of a card?!

Then secondly, having purchased a Hawthorn membership, at a home game one would assume you could sit in General Admission bays on the ground floor - only TWO bays were reserved for GA Hawthorn members. Otherwise you were asked to sit on Level 4! WTF.
Could be that you went on the wrong day. The game was on Sunday

Injury report seemed to dangle possibility of Day not playing …

Is that just giving him a couple more days to see how he pulls up etc?

Four pillars has been hinting at this the last few days. Guess we’ll see in the coming days!

It's spelt Maginness.

Autocorrects hate that spelling - much like anyone who has ever posted 'Shiela' when referring to Shiels. As a proud pedant - I honestly wouldn't be getting pedantic about it.

Only problem is that i see the wrong version so often i always have to check to get the right way to do it
Same with Breust and Bruest for years

You'll be calling games for Channel 7 in no time with that record.

McEvoy will play they won't leave the captain out
And here is the dilemma..... If we are better with two rucks then he plays, but if we are better without two rucks given the opposition and that Nash was alright as a fill in should he play?

Unfortunately it doesn't matter whether Nash Reeves or even Lynch play outstanding games you don't leave the captain playing in the 2's who was choosen by his teamates. We had this same issue with Ben stratton sadly.

Given he only played 3 quarters at BHH, would he not need to get through a full game at BHH before being picked, unless they decided to use him as the sub?

Does Box Hill not have a ruckman?
A tall skinny kid named Wynd. Has a fair bit of go about him, way too light. Not a bad prospect long term.

Callow had a few stints. Not great at the centre square but body on body he is more than handy. Plus his second efforts are terrific. He uses his bulk and plays aggressively. A lot to like. His height or lack of, may be an issue.

..but Kosi plays taller.

And he could play as tall as Dikembe Mutombo and it still wouldn't matter if Lewis is doing a better job up forward and Gunston is back. Nash plays in the midfield with some relief work up forward, in defence and pinch-hitted in the ruck when we were a ruckman down. Kosi in for Nash isn't really a thing at this stage.

If Lewis keeps playing the way he has from the preseason to round 1 then I think the that maybe Kosi should seriously consider asking for a positional shift back to the backline. At this stage with how functional the forward line looked on the weekend which we haven't seen in a long long time it might be his only way of forcing his way back into the seniors unless there's an injury and even then he'll be competing with Jeka and Callow for a KPF spot.

Oh and Ned the Dikembe gif is just for you 😂

I remember a few avid track watchers/BHH watchers saying that Kosi was definitely not going to make it as a defender hence his switch forward. Will be interesting if Jeka and Callow go past him at Box Hill.

A player vote wasn't taken this year interestingly
