Our big issue with Francis is we don't have him paired with an elite crumbing forward.
He constantly gets the ball to ground in the forward line.

The biggest issue is he isn’t a forward’s arseh*le. He’s a defender, always has been.

We have missed 4 really gettable shots at goal for a point, and two misses completely.

We should still be in front, but Brisbane ratcheted up the pressure in that quarter and we panicked, some of our efforts on the footy was super soft (Ridley and Redman particularly were really poor).

Peter Wright has saved this scoreline, and Durham has been a revelation, but we need to meet the pressure and stop panicking so much with handballs to guys under the same/more pressure

Take the holding the ball against instead of playing like its touch footy and giving the ball straight back to the opposition

Francis tends to do a few memorable things a game which make you think "WOW!" but then you realise he's largely ineffectual for the other 97% of the game.

Started ok that quarter, had some chances, terrible kicking, soft McGrath effort on the dropped mark gives them the goal and momentum shift.

Some other diabolical mistakes and it looked like we are down and out. Hit back the last few minutes so this may go down to the wire.

Hepp and Smith are finished. Ham not up to it. Francis does the almost better than anyone.

Make less mistakes we win. Big second half, a few careers on the line right here, right now.

That run-on by them was driven by their dominance from centre breaks. Essendon needs to do something about defending a centre break loss. It is not good enough that it translates to scoring so easily.
