Big game today that looks beyond just the result of this single match. The boys will know it too, lets see how they go. I want to see some defensive manic pressure for once, not wait until the 3rd quarter when they are 4/5 goals up then start putting the pressure on. If they can do it in the 3rd quarter, then they can also do it in the 1st quarter. All mindset

Great opportunity today coming at the right time of the year. A little bit on the line in terms of ladder position, a hoodoo at a ground we need to be winning at and an oppo that has the wood on us. Win this and we’ll take a lot of confidence. The fact they aren’t firing increases our chances and I don’t think it’ll take much away from a good result. Time to strike

Exactly. Our first quarters are abysmal.

Well that’s not technically so, we constantly play according to our opponents on the day. If we play Geelong- we play at their standard (at least for the first quarter), if we play a bottom 4 team - by and large it’s the same story.

I would love to see us come out breathing fire and leading by 3-4 goals at quarter time. We’ve done it in a few games over the past couple of years (against Port ?2 years ago and Giants last year the noteworthy examples).

Takes the crowd out of the equation as well.

Is this where we experiment with absurdist comedy? I'll go first:

Richmond will play try to play through whoever Adams is playing on. They are experts at isolating defenders. Expecting Riewoldt to get heaps of uncontested football as a lead up forward, especially if Adams is his opponent.

Win here and we are a chance this year.

Big forwards must stand up for once.

Daniher, McStay and Hipwood must be better than merely contributors.
Why is it the big forwards that need to stand up? Its our whole forward line that needs to forfill their roles. Our forward line are the most consistent in our line up....dont see why they need to be better.
In my mind its our midfield who need to stand up and stop the center clearance leaks.....and in my opinion, thats where we win or lose the game.

we need to win not only for ourselves, but for the people of greater melbourne. we lose and whately will be unbearable on sen tomorrow
stopped listening to SEN and anything on Foxt Footy....just not anything even ground discussed anymore.

I have become a little superstitious in recent years where at all home games over the last couple of years I will wear the same gear to each and every home game but I have never done it when watching an away game from the TV at home. I usually just wear whatever I have on.
So today I am going to do it and get dressed in my gear that I wear to home games and hope that that starts a good run of away form.
Fingers crossed 🤞
Go Lions 🦁

Pls pls pls no Fort as medisub. Just no. Is it just me or is this one of the worst strategies ever. So blatantly dumb it's not even funny.

Out of the 2 that have sat out the reserves I would prefer Cocky as sub without doubt.

Fages coaching history indicates he's wedded to 2 rucks but he's more wedded to our 3 talls. But still might want a bob each way.

Watching many games of late particularly last night I'm not at all convinced the 3 talls is the way to go especially if you've got smaller forwards who work their backsides off.

And if a defender goes down, we can move McStay to defense. Fort gives us cover for three positions.

Can anyone recall Oscar ever being injured? Not being glib

was he concussed in a game a while back?
I think there was a game last year where he rolled his ankle early in the game and finally went off in the last quarter and left Fullarton to ruck the rest of the game,

I know I’m in the minority but I actually don’t mind the Fort as sub move. Having fresh legs in the very first contest of every stoppage is a bigger advantage than having fresh legs on a flank somewhere imo.
