Wow, from 42 points up to giving the MCG Hoodoo its most compelling piece of evidence yet.

Questions will rightfully be asked of Fages but there is also a mental fragility in our list that goes well beyond the coaching staff.
IMO the reason we lose against the better sides is simple, lack of run and the opposition streaming out of the centre bounce, that is not fragility that is not having the right players, so many of them just do not have gut run in their makeup.

The MCG thing is a problem.

The structure is a problem. If we're nervous about the ruck situation drop a tall forward and play both.

Not enough low level pace with so many talls in.

Had our chances, but got a bit silly, missed a few chances to seal it, but the end of the day we should never have given up that lead like that.

Clugga, Coleman, Hipwood, Neale, Rayner.

I’d like to wait for Mighty Lions explanation on why Fagan didn’t sh!t the bed with our team selection, playing a ruck as our medical sub, and not having a plan B for Bolton, but all he ever does is tell us who we can’t talk about.
did they even have a plan A for Bolton.
We rarely play a tagger. Should of gone Madden if Starc out.

Only saw the last quarter.

I can't believe they ran us down from a 7 goal lead

Our last 4 shots were behinds.. Clug, Robbo and Charlie all miss highly gettable shots

Freaky bounces, couldn't buy a free kick plus that bizarre decision for a score review on Linc's "goal: when he was going to give Richmond a free anyway

WTF?

Beginning to think the MCG curse is real:'(

If ever there was a team deserving of the tag downhill skiers its us unfortunately. Its what we all expected, but hoped wouldn't happen. At least we can all release ourselves from expectation now. We now know beyond doubt that we are pretenders. A weak football club with a bunch of good players, but no champions. Nobody to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and carry the team across the line. Our leadership group gave us nothing, our stars shone brightly when we had things going our way. When chances were given to win the game, you just knew our lads would crumble under the pressure.

Really getting weary of seeing teammates flying for marks together, spoiling each other and both going to ground letting their opponents scoot away unimpeded.

Serious and thorough post-mortem required for this game and that covers players and coaches. Seething here.
Well said. The amount of times I saw 2 on 2 contests and both our players went to ground in a clumsy fashion, for the 2 tigers players to dash out the back, was mind boggling.

The whiplash is immense. Half time it looked like we had officially announced our September campaign launch. Hippy was back in form, Joe irrepressible.

2 quarter later at it feels like time to harvest the body for organs.

How’s footy…

Fort medical sub is so many levels of ******* stupid
That is what cost us the game (and missing easy goals). He provided very little when he came on.
In the second half we lacked any run. 5 talls and how many marks between them? Nothing down the line thats for sure.
So so disappointing to capitulate like that. Just building VFL talk on ourselves about failing at the G AGAIN.

Honestly not so mad at the performance but more so at rewarding the absolutely foaming feral tigers supporter sitting behind me who abused the umps from the first 15 seconds until the last minute.
How can you not be mad at that performance?

This isn't the end of the world by all means. But there are only so many bad losses you can have and still expect them to come good.

Anyway the positives.

Coleman was a stand out, but looks like he had some slight hamstring work done during the game.. so I hope he is back next week.
Hipwood was leading better. But still he attempts the chest mark which allows his opponent to spoil too often.
Charles was fiery and almost had even more goals
McCluggage was good too. but that missed goal is seared into my brain.
Neale was either super quiet or tagged heavily at one point but he was a good battler and got us some good ball throughout the game

I did like Cockatoo as well, Ah Chee still good.

Its hard to focus on each player as their mistakes are very bright in my mind right now :p

Lets hope Bailey is alright, if he was actually coughing up blood thats worrying. He was looking much better today and last week.

Yes gee that gets me wild, happened a few times today and the ball just goes out the back and they're away, happened all over the ground not just up front as well.

I think mighty lions can be a bit too quick to criticise you but in fairness you have been making unprompted posts like this to bring him up pretty constantly in a completely new thread.

Don’t see the need, your position on Fages’ coaching and the team can stand by itself.

Just watched your game. WTF happened to the clear goal on review?

Clearly decided as a Goal on the big screen, then Richmond kick OUT?
Then they get it back to get a better option?

They paid a free for Oscar shoving Balta in the back, a free that literally never gets paid. So the decision to even bother reviewing the score was just baffling

But not as baffling as Fort as the sub

Pathetic

We have backed ourselves into a corner playing Daniher and Hipwood. We have to play Fort as the sub because we don't have options if Big O goes down. Rip, we do all fly for the ball and then have no representation at the front and centre. I am now of the opinion that Fagan has taken us as far as he can with this group. All stops being pulled out for Clarkson now. We are in need of a mini re-build. Berry and McLuggage running into open goals 35 out and we miss them. Kills us!
