It has been achieved however with less talent on the park compared to his predecessor. It’s been achieved playing a core group of 20 year olds that represent a bottom 6 side not a top 8.

You and your best mate conveniently skip over the fact that what Ross has achieved thus far is beyond what was achieved under Ratten - as it was done with considerably less senior talent on the park.

We played some utter s**t football last year. But there was never a word about how it aesthetically looked. The fact it’s brought up now like it was some part of the remit on his appointment is odd.

Ultimately, the part you need to focus on is that you can credit RTB and it won’t stain your belief on process. You don’t have to be hurt that whilst we found a few Players, we also have missed substantially better players (today - not in 2026) - that the actual job the coach has done with the tools at his disposal has been brilliant

I think he means the one coming up. Carlton, Richmond, Geelong and Brisbane in Queensland. All going for spots in the 8. Richmond is the weakest link and they are always good at holding their nerve when finals are on the cards. Potentially need 2 wins even. It might need some more luck to fall our way.

Well we've lucked out on the Geelong injury front already with Hawkins and Blicavs on the weekend

Ahhh nope.

Wasnt against Ross at all, just wasnt convinced we followed a procedure all that adherently, that hasnt changed but that doesnt mean i think anyone else would have been better. In fact ive mentioned on numerous occasions, including at the time he was appointed, that there wasnt a better option. What i actually took issue with was signing Ratts based on the results at round 10. That was dumb. Dont rewrite history, * knows we did the "process" discussion to death enough that you should be crystal clear on my thoughts.

Ive just spent two ****ing pages saying Ross has improved the team and that were doing better. My whole ****ing point was that if you just look at the ladder and wins and losses its easy to mount the argument we havent improved at all. You wanna focus on the stats that support your argument then throw in some non metrics to do it more.

Take the W idiot, George and i have both just said we are better than we were, weve actually never said the opposite.

This boils down to you wanna make out like were the ****ing greatest team to have ever lived and Ross is a Coach K, Belichik level genius.

The best part is even Ross acknowledges weve got a looooong way to go.

Head down to Linton and give him a rub and tug if you like, ill wait til we have something to show for the improvement, like a second flag in 150 year history.

Don't know if this has any value or not, regardless of Lyon being good or not, deflecting away from poor performances or not, injuries, his list or not etc etc forever.

An observation from the two games v Hawks. Game one, felt they had us on the outside time and time again, pressured our ball carrier who turned it over to mainly Sicily, who would switch to the fat side and they would outrun us.

Obviously we had a plan for Sicily but the team and coaches switched up our play would get players to the drop, spoil Sicily and we benefited. Hawthorn didn't change their gameplan from last game, but we countered it, with high pressure on their handball game, causing turnovers, and then for the first time in months efficently using the ball going into the 50.

All in all a good job by all coaches and the players who countered a opposition gameplan that badly exposed us in round 1
