Another positive and noble projection (although them scoring less and us scoring more would be better!)

Go Crows over Port (could happen)
Go Blues over Pies (would be fun to see!)
and I suppose go Tigers over Demons (as long as we keep winning all good)

I'll be on Charlie watch this weekend. His stellar form from earlier in the year has seemingly disappeared. Watching him gob off at Wilmot for having a ping at goal and then missing a regulation set shot a few minutes after was disappointing. Wouldn't at all surprise me if he's carrying some sort of lower leg injury.

Didn't get a chance to watch the Suns Giants game so all I've got to go off is the score, but I can imagine the Suns will be fired up at home. If our midfield can have a repeat of last week that'll go a long way to winning this game. I don't think it'll be a drubbing like Pineapple Grapples gone by, but we should account for them fairly comfortably.

My take on it too.

Had a couple of snaps the other night that had no penetration.

Even the set shot he kicked from 40 out directly in front only just cleared the goal line.

He also seems to be lacking in his usual blistering pace when out the back.

It all adds up to what you say.

He did Jar his knee in the Melbourne game.
Doesn’t really explain anything before that game but certainly might be why he was a bit off in this one.

if gold coast play like they did against the giants we should blow them off the park

aimless kicking into f50 would suit andrews and payne very well, and the gold coast mids had no interest running back the other way when turnovers occured - wilmot, mckenna and coleman should have a field day if this occurs again

the big difference between us and the giants is we have a much better forward line to further punish gold coasts extremely poor capacity to defend ball movement

Finally caught the replay and besides the unbelievably bad umpiring, thought Rayners game was a lot better than I initially thought.

Ashcroft has somewhere between 10-15 CBAs most game and don’t see any reason why we can’t give Rayner 10 a game. I get he can’t run from stoppage to stoppage all day, but he’s absolutely fit enough to start at the centre and rotate to half forward/Full Forward. Give him the metaphorical ball and see if he can run with it. If he can, there will not be a midfield in the comp that could compete with the contested ball winning ability of Neale, Dunkley and Rayner at the bounce.

If he can’t play third tall due to Gunston being back in, then it is absolutely time to let him hunt the ball in the centre of the ground.

I’d then bring in one of Dev or Cocky to rotate with Cam to ensure good balance. JL to miss out.

Rayner has also become a real tough nut this year the way he’s been breaking tackles and busting packs in the forward 50, could become a real asset in the clearances if he can be consistent.

While I agree with your comment sadly consistency has not been one of Cam's signature traits thus far ...

To be fair he's playing an incredibly hard role to be consistent in.

will be in bali for this game

will there be plenty of places showing live footy over there?
Depends where you end up. But many of the bigger bars around Kuta and Seminyak have the footy on every week of the season.

I thought his defensive work in the air was a highlight. Several times when not in a position to mark he thumped it and spoiled the intercept mark.

Early prognosis

Bailey trained lightly on Tuesday and is still a chance to face Gold Coast at the weekend, but it's more likely the dynamic half-forward will return the following week. Brisbane is hopeful of getting Ashcroft in for his knee reconstruction by the end of the week, but is yet to lock it in. – Michael Whiting

Has anyone watched a game from the lounge or the pirate life deck at Metricon/HB Stadium? I'm considering trying either of them out. Are they worth it?

It is possible that if we drop a game, the Demons finish ahead of us, and even could finish second as they have a relatively easier draw and could boost their percentage. I am going for the Tigers and Crows this week, although Rankine is a big loss.
