I liked all the fanboys finding there favourite collingwood player straight after missing finals for a good old chinwag, there are no problems with the Alberton boys club is there

What the hell has happened to Aliir? He's a shadow of the brick wall, intercept marking machine he was last year.

Drops marks, fumbles ground balls, bad disposal, slow as anything.

One of the biggest drop offs from season to season that I can remember.

Aliir has never been a good 1v1 defender. His demise has been a combination of seeing the ball get behind the back of the zone in Port's front half, combined with the team electing to play Aliir deeper. If they get a new tea coach next year he will be just as a weapon as he was last year when they played to his strengths.

At the game, I thought he looked okay. Jonas and McKenzie, on the other hand, were not good. That puts more pressure on Aliir.

For the first time in a long time, I feel confident this wont happen.
I wish I could have that confidence, but I genuinely feel like Hinkley will be here next year. Absolutely nothing this club has done suggests we will move him on

I think Aliir is being made to play to deep this year due to our terrible KPDers in general and lack of height down back.

Rarely see him in the middle of the ground and on a mismatched opponent which allows him to be that interceptor.

Most teams play a third tall forward/resting ruck now with the reduced interchange. This forces Aliir to be more accountable and play deeper. Which we knew when getting him, he never been great 1 on 1.

We brought him back about a month too early from a serious injury and then acted surprised when he wasn't at his best when he came back.

Can someone please tell me where this idea we would be good if we got in the finals had come from? I saw Barrett peddling the same shit.

We've been ranked about 10th or 11th all year.
We've beaten one team in the top 8.
We lost the first 5 games and 11 losses all up.
We've had 8 goaless quarters and a further 12 where we've only kicked one goal.

Like I get that the media doesn't pay attention to us, but honestly what have they seen that suggests we're secretly good? Like if I got a job in the media and said "yeah North Melbourne are actually good" people would think I was an idiot, but apparently "Port is secretly pretty good" is an ok call?

This is absolute bullshit and yet again he throws players under the bus. We have been good enough to win at least half of those games but have been buggered by his possession happy gameplan, poor selection, inexplicable placings and engendering a culture which excuses losing.

Losing so many games.... just show

The batphone from Alberton rang Ford. Ford let it ring.

We’re good enough at being not quite good enough?

It’s f@&king nonsense.
