Excellent proof there. So many people with the, "I've been watching the game for XX years and never seen a foot raised"?!?!? What a load. I see them every season, shoulders, backs, fronts. Thankfully those images are coming through.

:DYou might want to leave the MB thread on the topic alone. It's full of sooking Mutts.

Dahl just as guilty of a headbutt or contact below the knees according to the letter of the law, more so probably, I don't recall a kick to the head rule :p

Reality is if it wasn't Toby it could have easily been play on nothing to see hear, the umpires and umpiring department have already admitted they watch and rule on him specifically. The way the ball came in, and with players coming at him it's entirely possible he instinctively went into marking mode.

Regardless if the worst we become is a better faster version of Hawthorn's "unsociable" football you won't find too many here complain.
I would have him at Hawthorn tomorrow. I think he will be suspended based on the replay I saw - just my opinion.

Toby shouldn't go? If he doesn't get at least two weeks I will be surprised - could even be more. Players have a right to protect themselves agree but also have a duty of care. Why protect yourself with your foot raised up to head height. I have been watching footy for 50 years and can't remember ever seeing someone protect themselves in this manner for a handball. This could have knocked an eye out.

Players have feet up at head height all the time, not only for protecting space, but for balance as well. Bont in the same game:

Now Shaw doesn't charge in and ends up being nowhere near, but if it was Shaw being hit by Bont's boot, there would be no discussion. Toby's incident was unfortunate (thankfully Dalhaus not hurt) but in no way intentional. The issue is only being discussed as far as it has, simply because it is Toby Greene.

Just finished reading the Mutt's autopsy thread. More salt than the Dead Sea. Highly delusional, and mildly amusing. But just to show their absolute class, the three that copped it the most were...

Toby, for obvious reasons
Jonny P, for being bitter and twisted that the Dogs decided to change their mind and go after Boyd instead (yeah, I know)

And the third person to cop it?

Yep, you guessed it - obvious really... Callan Ward's mum.

Several unflattering comments from classy mutts having a go at Cal's mum for something she said to BT post match.

Stay classy Mutts, stay classy.

IS PARKER CASE A PRECEDENT FOR TOBY GREENE?

- Jon Ralph

TOBY Greene seems likely to be found guilty of rough conduct today under a direct 2015 precedent that was reinforced by the tribunal.

Sydney’s Luke Parker was found guilty in Round 16, 2015 after pushing off with his foot and catching Hawthorn’s Grant Birchall to the chest.

He tested that rough conduct finding at the tribunal given he risked only a $1500 fine but the three tribunal members upheld the decision.

They ruled he breached his duty of care by raising his boot to Birchall, with the kicking motion identical to Greene’s action against Bulldog Luke Dahlhaus.

Parker told the triubunal he had kicked out at Birchall as he attempted to balance and spin, saying “there was nothing intentional in what I did”.

Because his action was ruled low impact and to the body he escaped with only a $1500 fine rather than a suspension.

But if Greene’s hit is seen to be medium impact given damage to Dahlhaus he would be hit with two-week suspension he could not reduce given a poor record.

MRP members Nathan Burke and Jimmy Bartel both said yesterday an alternative was a misconduct fine similar to Taylor Walker’s push of Jason Johannisen into the goal post this year.

They could also put the case straight to the tribunal as an incident that does not fit the boundaries of the MRP.

Yet Parker’s fine for rough conduct shows there is a recent and direct precedent for dealing with the incident at the MRP.

A careless and low impact finding would see him escape with a fine - his second low-level fine of the home-and-away season.

He already has striking and facial conduct charges this year and escaped a headbutting charge, but Bartel said his priors were not relevant.

“The MRP doesn’t pre-judge. We tix a box. The name doesn’t come into play,’’ he told 3AW.

Burke said Greene could be cleared, charged with rough conduct, referred to the tribunal or fined under misconduct.

Not sure where to ask this but I will most likely be a Giants member next season after landing myself a grad role for the APS in Canberra. I support all footy in the northern states :) How many games are generally played at Manuka each year? I've heard nothing but great things about the facilities. Will probably lurk around this forum next year a bit. Thought I'd introduce myself a bit.

4 Games a year at Manuka, 1 pre-season and 3 regular season games.

If you've heard great things about the facilities, then you've heard wrong. The ground is great to watch footy from (if you're rugged up tight) but the food, toilet queues etc are appallingly bad.

Welcome to not just lurk, but actively participate. We have many dual citizens.

Travel down from Sydney for all the Canberra games. Check out the Kingston Hotel on Giles St, just 100 metres from the gates. Great food before or after the game. Always full of GWS and rival fans. We stay in the Easts Hotel across the road.

So, Jack Redpath fought his suspension, lost, & now cops 3 weeks. There's a part of me that says 'suck it' to the Bullflog supporters, but there's the other part of me that thinks that's really harsh. I have nothing against Redpath, and I certainly don't think what he did deserves 3 weeks. I'll take Toby's luck with the MRP and move on, but, there's certainly some inconsistency occurring in the back portion of the season.

The two keys to the Bulldogs play style are quick hands and dropping down to draw high contact free kicks.

Less charitable people would describe this as 'throwing' and 'ducking'.

Agree 100%!
Thats why the mutts are a mile ahead in the free kick differential for 2017 and we are .... well 2nd last. Can only think of ine match we won the free kick count all season (v Tigers @ MCG). It's time Leon had a chat to the AFL about this.

Nope. Youre part of that club then anything that happens is karma
