After a spluttering start for 3Q's the Pies really fired in the last. It was great to see them kick long in the last, thereby taking the turnovers out of play.

Murphy had a very solid debut and he looked composed. He will be a player. Magden, like Langdon was exposed for lack of pace on several occasions in one on one situations. Langdon put in a real solid last quarter and a half. Varcoe continued his cameo performance up until half-time but was quiet thereafter.

Bucks obviously told Cox to kick long because that's what he did after 3Q time. Grundy was magnificent as was Adams, Mayne, Sidey, Aish, Maynard, Sier, Pendles and De Goey.

Despite being exposed with lack of height down back we did a magnificent job only conceding 10 goals.

Adams: 30 disposals; 12 contested; DE 77%; 7 tackles; 5 clearances; 6 I50’s; 1 goal
Mayne: 27 disposals; 10 contested; DE 78%; 5 tackles; 3 I50’s; 1 goal
Sidebottom: 33 disposals; 12 contested; DE 76%; 5 tackles; 6 I50’s; 1 goal
Grundy: 25 disposals; 15 cont; DE 60%; 9 tackles; 42 HO; 8 clearances; 7 stoppages; 3 R50’s; 1 goal
Maynard: 23 disposals; 10 contested; DE 79%; 7 tackles; 2 I50’s; 5 R50’s
Sier; 16 disposals; 10 contested; DE 57%; 7 tackles; 4 clearances; 4 stoppages; 5 I50’s; 1 goal

Sensational win.Virtually a V.F.L strength backline, and quiet games from WHE,DeGoey and Thomas, and still we smash them in the last quarter. It's absolutely amazing what this team has been able to achieve.Let's hope we can get a few more class players back for the finals, just to make it even stronger!

What a difference twelve months make, this time last year we were looking forward to crushing Melbourne dreams of finals, this year we are playing finals.

Just got back and saw the result. How awesome is it!! We are officially playing finals again!

Well done to the whole club for turning this around so dramatically since last year. The change has been amazing to see and watching us has become a pleasure again (and not just because we're winning; it's in the way we play).

Despite some huge list holes, despite a train crash injury crisis; we are a committed, bonded group playing good attractive footy and winning. I reckon we play a game that should stand up in finals too.

It's hard to put your finger on what has been the catalyst for this but I'll go with giving a shout out to Ed and the "review"...
