And on the flip side.....playing loose can be costly as it was last week.Wilmot's become a bit of a gun. Takes risks that usually come off to some degree and throws himself in at key moments when the game's on the line.
Yeah contested all night, provides a bit of chaos for the opposition.Doesn't match the stats, but I liked ah chee. Seemed to do the impossible a couple of times.
What if we put Gunston out to pasture and have Rayner play his spot? He'd be damaging and playing to his strengths as a playerCam Rayner - 3 disposals in the SECOND HALF. Disposal efficiency for his 12 disposals over the four quarters was 58% He simply refuses to step up in big games. We really are at the stage where we need to ask, what is the point of Cam Rayner?
That's true Lazza. But if we're going to be winning any flags you need someone like him to break the lines. And on the flip side.....playing loose can be costly as it was last week.
Tonight's match has actually converted me from a Lester hater to a Lester supporter. He popped up at all the right moments and made a difference. Go Froggy!Dare I say it, but LESTER WAS FANTASTIC AGAIN THIS WEEK!
16 Disposals
100% Disposal Efficiency - Lester’s field kicking was sublime.
Team high 8 marks
8 intercept possessions
3 Tackles
Stood up, took the hits, forced stoppages,
That hero's name is Deven RobertsonWe won it with a few bits of individual brilliance in the first 3 quarters.
We just looked very very tired at the end.
Pointless reading anything in to it at this stage of the year because we have our best team on the park. Or thereabouts.
It's ours to take if we can play a lot better and get ourselves totally motivated.
Ashcroft it turns out has been a big loss and it's unfortunate we don't seem to have anyone to step up and fill that slot.
Opportunity for someone to make themselves a hero in the next 6 weeks.
Need him in front of Dev that's for sureDo we need Lyons as the sub to help out the mids in the last quarter?
No it's notThat hero's name is Deven Robertson
Matilda’s gone through. At least some good to come out of this evening.
Definitely hope you are correct and I'm wrong. Port has lost twice to the crows, dees and pies barely got over the line against them across 3 games so getting a win is a good result.
However some of the fundamentals are trending the wrong way. As much as we were unlucky to lose by a point to the dees, we've barely held on the last 2 weeks. Maybe that's two good character building wins and we are reserving our best punch for finals - only time will tell.
i hope so but also can see them pipping us on % to finish 2nd.Reckon we'll be playing the Dees up here in week 1 of the finals now. Will be almost exactly one year since they demolished us up here in round 23 if so. Good time to fix that up.
Huge turning point in the game was when we were streaming forward and had 2-3 players all on their own out the back 5 or so minutes into the last quarter, at the time we were around 16 points up IIRC, Starc got the ball in space and just had to hit one of our spare players and it was just about game over, he shanked the kick and kicked it down the throat of the only Crows player within 50 meters.
It was a huge momentum shifter, you could feel it at the ground, not long after the Crows kicked a goal and it was game on.
He wasn't flash from what i saw of the ressies
And he's still too slow and a defensive liability. Lyon's only hope is if Neale goes down. Not far off being delisted I would suspect
he's a turnover king. alongside Berry as probably the worst in our team. plenty of blind bomb kicks.Huge turning point in the game was when we were streaming forward and had 2-3 players all on their own out the back 5 or so minutes into the last quarter, at the time we were around 16 points up IIRC, Starc got the ball in space and just had to hit one of our spare players and it was just about game over, he shanked the kick and kicked it down the throat of the only Crows player within 50 meters.

The negativity is ridiculous .
