Loving this young core so much.

Really fun team to watch build, in both the characters and the brand of footy being played.

Koschitzke seems to be enjoying playing as the second mobile ruck. Love what he’s giving us.
Like Nash, when they are on or around the ball, they don't have time to watch the game unfolding in front of them and try and predict the outcome. Instead they react and use their natural aggression and athletic capabilities.

Having said that, Koschitzke really timed his runs up the wing and presented to contests better than he has in any game in his career. His contested marking in that last quarter was top drawer. Kept us in it as much, if not more than, any other Hawk player in the last.

Is it even possible to tag him?
Can’t tag him so well in the contest. But teams can’t afford to let him run free especially when we have the ball.

He ended up with 30 contested possessions and 12 uncontested marks. Dogs didn’t even try to go near him when we had the ball.

He’s way too good to be given that much latitude.

This midfield is looking deadly!

Newcombe - Hard nosed inside and outside player that will rack up disposals

Day - Almost a bont clone, agile skilful and a goal kicker

Worps - criminally underrated the way he gels our mids together (His work with nuke today was amazing) while consistently winning clearances deserves more kudos

Nash - such a beast a tough match up, just consistent all season

Amon - Classy winger, honestly will be a great recruit for us long term

Just so excited and pumped with where this team is headed, yeah tough times to start the season and im sure there will be more next season but the seeds are there for growth and the Hawks will be back up sooner than people think!

Scrimshaw: 17 disposals - 7 marks (3 contested) - 3 tackles - 88% disposal efficiency

It’s amazing just how much better the back six perform when Scrimshaw is in the team.

It's not just the fact that Scrimshaw is back in the team.

He's changed. The switch has flicked. The penny has maybe finally dropped?

He isn't just coasting on his talent anymore. He's bought in.

We just smashed the supposed best midfield in the game.

Only two negatives:
  • Poor Wingard getting injured so badly just after showing the type of form that would get him another contract with the Hawks or another contender next year
  • We just opened the door for the scum or cats to make the finals.

Long may the scum's streak continue 🤞

We ran an extra 17km collectively > the Doggies.

That is insane given how young our side is. We are going to brain teams on the outside when we get 2-3 preseasons into these legs.

Spare a thought for Chad. Just when he started to string together some quality games he gets badly injured. If it turns out to be the Achilles it may well be the end.
Sad to see it potentially end that way for him. Might not of played his best footy at the Hawks but he was a star of the game early in his career, was a pleasure watching him at Port.
Was playing some great footy the last month also

we have now officially defeated half of the top 8, and have a winning record in 3rd quarters for the season (11-10), in this incredible form of tanking that we are currently undertaking.
