Joel Selwood was pick 7 Mitch Thorp pick 6.

Higher pick doesn’t always = better player long term.

Yeah I think everyone understands that.

The point is if you have have a lower pick then you have access to more players. It gives you more of a chance to draft that top end talent. The club just has to make the right pick.

Yeah, but 2 of those 7 are unattainable.

Darcy and Daicos may as well be Michael Jordan and Joe DiMaggio, they’re not available to anyone other than Dogs and Pies. Not worth even mentioning them.

We get the 5th best kid ‘in the draft’.
Absolutely incorrect you are because of F/S priority picks we move 2 steps backwards as they are potentially top 3 picks this two positions draft pick forward.

Hence, 5 is now equal and is the new 7😁

FMD.

So Daicos, Horne, Darcy top 3 players in the Draft and are worth a mention because doggies come into play a top 5 finalist who move our pick forward and snatch a top 3 players. Even if we ended up last Pies would have snatch the best young player in the Land Daicos. Ll as pick one.

We are getting Lucky 7 pick in the lottery l.

Go buy yourself a lottery tix or play Bingo to get Lucky 😁👌💪

I think today we saw again why Titch, JOM, Wings and Worps doesn’t work. Adding class would be good. But it’s the defensive pressure is so lacking from those guys.

They’ve tried to rectify it with Worps tagging. But we saw at the end when a team gets a run on we just have no defensive pressure around the ball from those guys that teams are able to get a run on against us easily. Especially with the 6-6-6 rule. It’s why we look a lot better with Nash and Duke in the team.

The last centre bounce had Mitch, wings and JOM it was our worst set up for trying to hold a 6 point lead.
I love Duke, Duke was what was missing imo, Nash didn't do it which was the heat and pressure 24/7, we know Titch can bring it, Worps and Jaeger are both capable of it and should be doing it alot. Wingard does it too, but it wasn't done by anyone today. Mitch Wings and JOM in that last play wasn't the issue, we lost the tap and they got it out.

In a disappointing finish good to see another great game by Nash - 24 possessions and a goal - the silence from the Nash haters has been deafening in the past 4 weeks...🤔

Maybe want to see more than 3-4 weeks of good footy before announcing permanent revocation of misgivings?;)
Many suffering TOB flashback hell when good performances are followed by....uhm.

Not that it means a huge deal but it was pretty ordinary to not win a game with a 5+ goal lead with 6-7 mins left, not sure I've ever seen a team blow a game from that far ahead with that little time left. Maybe it's just a timely reminder though despite our late season resurgence we're still a rather shit football team with lots of work to do.

Anyways nice to see Mitchell, JOM and Chad continue good form, also Nash having another very solid game in the middle.

Thanks Clarko and silk.

Yep.
There's a lot of stuff that reporters are sitting on that the board also leaked, but told them to hold off on reporting. It's a case of if you knew what it was, then your point of view will be different. There's a reason the board leaked when they've almost always remained tight-lipped. Tid bits of it have been subtlety mentioned in the media and on BF if you know where to look.

All I'll say is, the PR department have had one of their hardest weeks of work this week.
Time to give it a rest I reckon.
Youve been sinking the boots for a while now, not just the last 4-6 weeks.

If you know stuff good for you but maybe give it a rest ,while the rest of us reflect on us not having a 4 time premiership coach at the helm.
Its pretty poor taste to be honest .

The result longer term will hopefully be a blessing in disguise and Sam can use it to show why the game must be played for the full 120 mins.

a few blokes too happy with themselves today. The result means jack overall, but what is reminds us all is that there are players who have had an above average last month that has clouded judgment on their worth long term. Hopefully it fools a few outsiders in a trade
This is how I feel too. This is a match day autopsy thread. I can celebrate Clarko and Burgers in other threads.

We have failed to deliver when anything has been on the line this year. Premiership points (not junk time points), Clarkos/Burgers farewell etc.

We have beaten/pushed a few good sides when nothing was at stake for us. A little bit of added pressure and we disappear. Today we reverted to type and could not handle the expectation. Today proved a few on the list will not take us to our next flag and those players have made it a bit easier for the brains trust to weed them out. I thought I would feel better about it this morning but I do not.

It's still the 5th live pick in the draft. Those F/S players aren't an issue.
Daicos and Darcy are real and great prospects. They are not figments of peoples imagination. Yes we are getting the 5th best 'available' player in the draft. Reality is that the system (Father Son) pushes us to 7th best kid (hopefully proving to be the best pick in time).
