I think the club will go with; Out: Wingard, Lewis (No point of risking), In: Meek (Even though he didn't play well for BH on the weekend - They would think let's try the 2 rucks again given the Dees will more likely keep Grundy in for 1 more week with Gawn) and more than likely Seamus with B. McDonald the sub again or Seamus the sub.

What i would do is: Bring in Serong (Shown enough to reward him with a go at CHB and Seamus with B.McDonald the sub.

I would then play Sicily and Hardwick up forward. Why not we have 2 games to go and will throw off Melbourne's planning for Q1.
This then gives our backline a chance to impress to see how much it has developed since the start of the year without Sic in particular. Blanck (On either Grundy or Gawn), Serong (Van Rooyen), Scrimshaw, Weddle, Impey, Morrison and Seamus (on Pickett) in a back 7.

Nah.

Emerson Jeka (15 touches, 6 marks)

"Jek had some really good moments and really disappointing moments. We saw him just switch off and not stay alert for the whole quarter. But then had some really nice moments where he was able to win his own ball and use it really well, which is what we love. His growth now will be in terms of showing consistency throughout the whole game, not having the peaks and troughs. He needs to make sure he is staying switched on and alert for the whole quarter and then resets himself in the breaks to then go again in the next quarter."

This is what is so dissapointing from Jek. It is primarily why he is playing at VFL level rather than AFL level. He has all the skills and looks great when he brings that intensity alas you can't pick and chose when you want to play.

We’ll win this even without Lewis.
Would need midfield efforts consistent with last week's, and for Breust to replicate his performance against the Pies.

Lewis' absence puts some extra responsibility on Kosi, which he should be good for after his showing in Launceston. Also interested to see what the coaches do with DGB.

Can we win this one? Realistically I don’t think so… but…. I think our mids can match theirs, our backs can match their forwards.

It all comes down to what we can come up with for our forward structure with Chad and Mitch (probably) out. DGB, Kozzy, Sticks? I’ll be stoked if we can pull it off

They had a brutal finals like game so we can only hope they’re a little banged up from it.

Although I think we will probably get done, I just can’t see us coming up with a good enough score to win it considering how well they defend. Our forwards were all well down last time we played them, need Punky to be good for 3/4 if we’re a sniff and Kosi/Ryan to snag a couple between them.

Because it will instill enormous belief and help drive the preseason knowing we have the measure of the premiership favourites.
Beating Collingwood didn’t do that?

Followed by the Dogs on the weekend?

Let's be honest, if Dee's are serious about contending then they take care of us on Sunday.
Without Lewis , our Frwd line can fall to pieces. He's extremely important.

This will be another brilliant test for our emerging midfield. Backing up three weeks in a row at the end of a long season will be a big step forward. They failed that challenge (backing up) against port earlier in the year. Let’s hope they do better this time.

I am worried about goals, but the spread of goalkickers last week indicated we can kick a decent score without having one person dominate. The issue will be less about living the goals and more about the structural loss of Mitch Lewis.

DGB has to stamp Lever.

I'd take a zero possession game from DGB if he can do what he did to Balta for the first 3 quarters on Lever.

Unlike Balta, Lever is a weapon on the rebound, and probably doesn't have an overwhelming physical advantage that Balta had over DGB. Could be a key matchup.

I'm hoping Mitch has a chat with Brocky this week about a smooth transition west and gives him an opportunity to depart with a legacy on Sunday.

I feel it will be similar to Bateman when he wanted to move west. Wait till the seasons done, head home and be with your family and make a call during the trade period after he’s had some time to settle and know that he’s fully supported either way.
