Phillipou stepped up for his best game. Nas just a star, Windhager and Byrnes excellent. Wilkie stood up without Battle to help. Stocker was very good. They seemed to sit on Sinclair and give him no room but still had a great game.
Our young boys were very good

Windy coming along nicely

Incredibly sh^t effort from the midfield and half forwards

I think we tried a fair bit of experimentation in that. Phillipou played plenty of time in the true mids and had guys like Stocker move up too. Sharman was moving a round a lot and then Hayes late. Steele seemed to be minding someone, probably Neale. Crouch and Owens were unusually fumbly under added pressure.

Nice showing from the kids. Byrnes locked in his finals spot for the sub at minimum.

That last quarter felt like everything good was generated from Nwm, Pou, Windhager and Owens.

Put a Max King in that mix and who knows

Weird season.

13 Wins a good result.

We can play much better than we did today

RTB is giving us every chance. Even when we're off, we're generally in games.

I'd like to see our captain's body language a bit more forceful and up and about.

We missed Max

Wilkie very very good again.

Would like to see Wilks as Captain next year, he just oozes leadership

The opposite to last week. We seemed to give the kids lots of prime spots which is an impressive result considering.

Pretty pleased but we were probably flattered by their wastefulness in their forward line.
Gee they get a good run up there umpiring wise.

I've said it all year, we give sides plenty of chances to take shots, you just don't get many easy ones. Lots of them outside 40 meters or closer under pressure. They were wasteful but you have to take your chances with our backs.

I'm trying to stay optimistic, Brisbane were definitely wasteful up forward but a lot of those shots were from bad decisions and execution on our end, we are much better than we showed. Swings and roundabouts n all that

Nice game from some of the young kids. NAS, Pou, Owens all good. Nice little cameo from Byrnes.

The usual suspects in Sinclair, Marshall, Crouch and Wilkie all solid games.

Hill, Steele and Clarke were all diabolical. Clark is not going to make it as an AFL footballer. He is brave, but you can't be slow, weak and have a poor tank.

Just not athletic enough for this level, never will be.

Are we in trouble with Battle?

Touch and go as to when he plays next. Is it still 14 days. It was delayed concussion. No issue IMO. Cameron in more trouble, looked like he roundhouse punched one of our players pretending to punch the ball.

The positive were, it was only a loss by 12 points. Our defence apart from Webster had stella games. Why they go with Webster on Cameron I will never know? We have found our next full back - Cordy was good again. Byrnes gave plenty when he came on.

Apart from the 3rd quarter we were well beaten and that was obvious. Our midfield are 3rd rate, Steele is a shadow of his former self he shouldnt be getting a game in the midfield IMO. Clark and Crouch's lack of speed was highlighted again. Both are crabs...

I love RTB & Hayes but there midfield setups are putrid. Surely when blokes like Steele, Clark are not getting there hands on it you make some changes. There is no way Steele should be captain next year.

Out marked all over the ground forward of the D50. Killed at ground level, you simply dont win games with that lack of competitiveness.

Its great we are playing finals but there is a huge void between the top sides quality and the Saints.

Owens had a frustrating game. I think they were trying to pressure him and he looked a bit rushed and messy compared to usual.

Me Hanky going to be a star, let's hope he doesn't go the Horne Francis and get homesick.

Not bad. Not great either. Brisbane could have iced it earlier but we hung around. The young guys all played well. Marshall huge. Wilkie very good. NWM keeps the form going.

Would like to think we kept some stuff up the sleeve, but that might be wishful thinking. Couple of weeks rest might work wonders. Steele still sore? Been a very curious year from him. Good to see Hayes getting some touches. Tough comeback game.

For the youngest guy in the last draft the Pou has done unbelievably well. Played every game despite being tipped for a rest every week. Ross intent on pumping games into him. Byrnes might have stamped himself as the sub. Good third quarter.

Hopefully a home final coming up. We deserve one.

Time wise he will be fine to play

I rated Hill's game. Made a couple of critical errors but overall he was good.

Overall good game. You could tell we weren't going all in and were happy to experiment with a few things throughout the night. Hopefully some good experience for the youngsters, who all impressed, and a good preparation for finals.

Clearly outmatched in the middle, but defence held strong for majority of the game we just don't have the ready made x-factor midfielders ready for us to be contenders. The young ones like Philipou or Owens might get us there down the line but not yet. I even thought Byrnes did very well for the limit game time, definitely what a sub should do. Missing King but I think as we know all year its just the midfield is very one dimensional and the gameplan that Ross Lyon has provided us the year has given us every chance to make finals with what we've got. I'd put a fork in Clark this year he is done, Byrnes can take his spot and bring in Billings if Ross isn't back yet. Clark just seemed so slow and cooked when running two ways. Like seriously how can he be struggling so much for fitness when he had a grand total of 53% of time on the ground! He was only on the ground 4% more than Battle and Josh was out for half the game lol

When Gresham isn't taking shots on goal, he's very good at getting the ball to our advantage in the forward 50. He's better at handballing or kicking it out to a teammate to set up a better short.

He looked good up the ground because he was one of the few that wasn't struggling with the pace of the Lion's mids. He steps around players and breaks lines. We need a replacement for him when he goes. We look very stodgy against the better and faster midfields.
