Radio commentary team gave BOG to Henderson, with Schoenmakers, Fitzpatrick and Mirra also getting votes for Box Hill.

I wouldn't listen to anything this radio commentary team had to say. That was atrociously bad. Having to stop transmission for 10 minutes in the second quarter because they set up in a place that wasn't suitable. Constantly playing the song 'Careless Whisper' when Max Warren's name was mentioned which drowned out the actual commentary. Saying the phrase 'spinning, spinning, spinning' almost every freaking time the ball was tossed in. And perhaps most infuriatingly, constantly making mistakes and then joking about it. It was actually physically painful to listen to these people.

Of course this makes it hard for radio listeners to actually determine who was good and who was bad, because they constantly got names mixed up or used the phrase 'the player'. There was probably a period of three minutes where they didn't mention a single players name from either team, and just commentated on what was happening to the ball.

O'Rourke was mentioned a lot throughout the whole game. Morrison and Cousins (who even had a brief stint in the ruck?) mentioned a lot more in the second half. Vickery always seemed to be our target leading forward from how often his name was called. Fitzy said to be good around the ground but his kicking radar was off today. Henderson a catalyst for our second half surge. Willsmore having his typical game. Heatherley seemed to constantly be linking up which is good for a defender.

But honestly? Hopefully someone who was able to brave the conditions and actually watched the game can report back because I seriously don't think this commentary allows any good calls to be made.

Can I ask why 'Careless Whisper' for Max?

Totally agree with the rest though, surely they could find some commentators who can concentrate more than 5 seconds

Female boundary commentator mentioned his appearance, and the commentators in the box decided to use it as a running gag every time his name was mentioned.

Things like that really s#*t me, why bother to get a female in your commentary team if you are going to basically reduce all her comments to who she thinks are the hottest players?
