Disagree. If you have a good look at how the opposition are setting up, they are instructing a defensive mid to sit on Day at clearances. Countless time yesterday he was first to get his hands on the ball only to be driven into the ground. In the long term it’s a burden on him that is unsustainable. Day would benefit tremendously from having Hustwaite be that guy. And the second in the chain mids, will dine out on his deft touch and quick hands.
Teams will still sit on Day. The won’t on Hust.

If we want teams to not sit on Day we need our other mids to get dangerous or Day is unaffected by the player on him.

That’s why Worpel is so important for our midfield is that he can be dangerous offensively and handles body contact so well.

Hustwaite isn’t that sort of threat. Instead teams will focus more on Day as he’s the one going to exit out the front of stoppages. And run off Hustwaite in order to expose him defensively. If he wants games he needs to be better than Ward, Mackenzie and he’s not there yet.

Hustwaite, 26 and 9 clearances, late in the 3rd.

Too good for the level.
Certainly worth a look at senior level. Ward and Mackenzie have provided heaps of skill and run, but we haven't filled the void left by Worpel at clearance.

I remember early days that Mackenzie spent a bit of time forward flank, I wonder if he could step into croc's role to leave an opening for Huss? Or do you think it would be a bit of coverage from multiple players?

Not just Greene, there is also Finn Callaghan too. Need answers for both

Weddle and Maginess have to take roles on both these. Keen to see how our Finn goes with their Finn

If our players are elite like they are in this passage, we will account for the Giants. Everyone is elite, starting with Battle, then mass, then Day, then Gunners and the icing is the Wizard, poor Cripps was gassed at the end.

What amazing commentary. Watson ices the game to the sounds of (commentary) silence.

Finn hasn’t tagged in two years. That won’t happen. And Greene would be way too clever to Weddle (assume you are referring to Toby). Hardwick is the man for that job. Gunners to play forward.

Well after watching tonight's BH game, I am going left of field.

Out - CMac
In - Seamus Mitchell, not to play back pocket but to play the CMac role, he has the pace and perhaps a free up will enable his next step, hard as a cats head (like Hussy) and can lay a tackle. Then if it fails, then he goes back and plays on the Jones boy.

Not averse to this. We need someone who can cover the amount of ground that Croc does.

Mackenzie can play Crocs role, he's played half frwd before and kicked some goals last year. Whoever comes in, most likely, it's the sub role, so gotta weigh up whether Huss is a good choice for sub or just get Breust back in.

Sorry, I meant Tom Green. Toby is a different cat but Finn can tag him.

If you read Sam's comment after the dons game, he did mention Finn has played mini tagging roles within games when someone needs to be shut down.

Most likely Nash takes Finn or Green in the middle and when they rest forward our Finn will take them on. Going to be a battle btw the Coaches this one.

HH sub

B: Hardwick, Barrass, Impey
HB: Sicily, Battle, Amon
C: Morrison, Day, D’Ambrosio
HF: Moore, Gunston, Mackenzie
F: Ginnivan, Chol, Watson
FOL: Meek, Newcombe, Ward
INT: Weddle, Nash, Maginness, Jiath, Hustwaite (sub)

I’ll be interested to see if they select HH. He’s doing very well at BHH.

I think they keep Gunners the sub. Having a senior player come in as nearly permanent runner in the second half is pretty valuable.
