I'd have a think about Weddle into midfield via the second ruck role (Cripps).

I know Sam said he wanted to settle him in defence, but it doesn't seen to working. Be agile Sammy.

It would so benefit Meek.
With Scrim out, it'd be great to get Frost back in so it could possibly free up Weddle a bit.

But with that said you'd think he'll start in defence. Along with Sic and Hardwick this year it's all about versality, but only if things are going wrong. So expect him to be called upon if we need him.

With Box Hill playing tonight, and with the unfortunate injury to Croc, there is a bit to play for for a few players.
Punky is always an option to come in, but he has been playing some limited game time.
Someone like Serong who is always in contention to come in due to his consistency.
Frost didn't play last night and was the carryover emergency who won't play tonight. We all know what Frosty brings to the team.
For a Seamus Mitchell or Bailey MacDonald, a huge opportunity to perform tonight as both have speed to burn and could play a role in the backline, which allows Dimma to play forward for the majority of the game.
The other outside the square option could be someone like a Cody Anderson who brings huge tackling pressure and speed to the forward line.
If Croc is unable to get up for the game, it will be fascinating who replaces him as his role is so valuable to the team dynamics.

Left field option but I'd consider the Beast with Moore playing one of the HHF roles that Croc was playing.

Even as sub, I worry Breust doesn't have the match fitness to play a whole game if we cop an early injury as has been the case for every game so far.

I'd love to see Hust come in but he's really competing for Nash's role and may need to wait until Nash is given a break. We don't really need BMac or Shammy as we have enough run out of defence with Impey, CJ, Weddle and Amon.

I'd like to see Gunna in the 22 and a fresh quick waiting to come on.

The Beast would be a fairway back in the pecking order. I have no problems with Brust being a sub, played a great game last night and got better as the game went on.

Nup. The Beast is next in line after a fit Punky. We don't have Sully or Bennetts on the list anymore.

I’d probably bring in Serong, which will allow us to maintain our flexibility with Sicily and Hardwick. He can start with Cadman while Battle goes to Greene. Hardwick then starts forward.

holy smoke!!!
the "beast" is at least, at the very least, one full and tough pre-season from getting anywhere near it. Did you watch last night? Has, at this stage, pretty much zero tank. Wouldn't get thru a quarter at AFL level at this stage.
we want run, very well said. Shammy will provide that, Huss will not.

As honest and hard fought as our wins have been, a quick look at the ladder right now shows all of the teams we've beaten have not yet scored a win. I'm not sure how to read that.

Next Saturday against GWS will give us (me) a much better idea of where we sit.
The difference being essendon and Carlton came to play against us their pressure was up similar to St kilda and we gave it back and won it. Geelong did not. You keep banking the wins and the ladder takes care of itself

Looking at the Carlton win with a critical eye, and perhaps the paranoia of Sam Mitchell, I wouldn't be riding high off that game.

If we turn up and put in a shift of hard work, we will hardly lose this season.
But we've got a lot of work to do still, and the Giants have plenty of talent to smash us if we get complacent.

All our games have been wet to some degree also, hopefully on a dry deck we'll really cut some teams up.

Our ability to carve up what we've had before us has been out best trait, albeit sporadically , in the dry you feel like we'll go to another level.

We are the hunted

Huge game. The chance to go 4-0 against an opponent that should be top 4 finals time. A good test to see how we compete against a better team.

We can only beat the opponents we are drawn to play, so well done to the lads.

Our wins so far:-

Syd @ SCG
(not sure Swans are going to threaten greatly this year, probably 5th-8th)

Ess MCG
(not a great team and won’t be making finals bar a miracle)

Car MCG
(lack depth- bottom 8 players not fantastic)

Swans have been our biggest test so far.

Time to roll GWS in Launceston on a home ground we win 75% of games on.

Alight the fire within! Go get ‘em Hawkers! 🔥 :hawthorn:

Easter Monday evening we will know exactly how we sit this year!
