Not to kick a guy when he is down, but Wood does not deserve a game. Would rather Levi (who managed a decent ruck game in VFL) or Rowe have a crack if Warnock isn't fit.

Yes it isn't ideal but seriously the message it sends leaving him in the side is exactly what we don't need. He isn't jumping in the ruck and is useless around the ground.

Would love Walker to get a run and Buckley. See Buckley to me is a must because he would run through walls for the club and we REALLY are lacking that at the moment. He is more of a leader than half our "leadership" team.

Whiley should get the nod over Graham, two decent VFL hitouts give the kid a chance for Clem Smith. Clem I really like but he is nowhere near AFL fit.

This is because Hurley played in defence against Sydney, the entire match, on Buddy.

He won't be playing as a forward against Carlton either.
He has been selected at CHF for tomorrow's game, but the reality is I don't watch Essendope games because I do not wish to watch players who have cheated.

No way we will win this but just have a go. I'm guessing 7-8 goals if we have a crack 15+ goals if we don't. I hate essendon but let's be honest they are a good side.

Out: White (inj), Carrazzo, Tutt, Smith, Ellard,
In: Walker, Cripps, Graham, Buckley, Dick

B: Rowe, Jamison, Henderson
HB: Yarran, Docherty, Tuohy
C: Gibbs, Murphy, Curnow
HF: Bell, Walker, Everitt
F: Jones, Casboult, Buckley
R: Wood, Cripps, Judd
Int: Simpson, Graham, Dick, Sub: Menzel

Out with the old, in with the potential. Smith probably needs a break now. Ellard works hard but shouldn't be best 22. Tutt barely did anything. Carrazzo past it.

Walker to play at half forward; he kicked over 50 goals one year and we need goal kickers. His position is obvious. Cripps and Graham are the future midfielders of the club that we need to bring up from being fringe dwellers to A graders. So start playing them and don't stop. Neither of those two are challenging Usain Bolt over 100m, so in comes Buckley and Dick. Menzel to the sub spot for being below par in attitude and performance.

If Curnow's disposal drops away or he can't find a way to hurt the opposition going forward very soon, he should be dropped for Whiley, who should be the next bloke we bring in, along with Boekhorst as soon as he is ready.

This team has more scoring potential, a faster midfield with better inside/outside balance and a defence that can nullify KPFs as well as rebound well. Make it happen, Malthouse.

Through tear filled eyes... my round 3 team...

FB: Tuohy - Jamison - Docherty
HB: Yarran - Henderson - Simpson

C: Everitt - Whiley - Gibbs
Foll: Wood - Cripps - Judd

HF: Murphy - Casboult - Bell
FF: Jones - Watson - Menzel

Inter - Walker, Buckley and Carrazzo
Sub - Ellard

OUTS
Rowe replaced by Watson
Watson deserves an extended run.. and not the last couple of games for the year. Rowe had a shocker for the second game in a row. Boy he's lucky he wasn't dumped as quickly as Watto was last year. Needs to get his hands on the ball in the 2s. Henderson needs to defence.

Curnow replaced by Whiley (or Graham)
Was a toss up between Carrazzo or Curnow. Both have been ineffective however Carrazzo is our vocal leader... in a team we don't have leaders. Whiley has played two games in the VFL and like Docherty last year should enjoy some AFL for the rest of the year. Plus more grunt in the midfield.

White replaced by Buckley
White looks injured. Buckley didn't grow up supporting the Northern Blues... he grew up supporting the Carlton Blues. Will be good to see another player in there who bleeds for the guernsey.

Tutt replaced by Walker
Tex comes straight back in. He's too old to need several VFL games. Tutt was VFL standard at the Dogs... and surprise surprise... he still is at Carlton.

Smith replaced by Cripps
Although I have enjoyed Smith getting games. I'd much rather he go back to the VFL with his new AFL experience and continue his development there... until later in the season... when we've sorted out shit out.

5 outs could be considered abit extravagant. But when Cripps was a starter anyway... and White is injured its fair. Will be looking forward to Graham, Boekhurst and DVJ to continue putting their names up for selection. However throwing them all in one week would be silly. Whiley the only new inclusion will do.
I like what you are thinking, but I would question weather we need Carrazzo out there as a leader if he isn't going to be around to lead much longer. We need the second tier players to take that leadership mantle. I'd rather see him dropped than Curnow at this stage.

Yeah it was one or the other. Don't mind which. However can't really have both in there.

Carrazzo has to go. Gave us nothing again last night.

Chances are, both teams will be 0-2 after this round, making next week even more important.

Please Carlton! I'm begging you!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEEAAAASE BEAT THE DRUGGIES!!!

Watson, Jones and Casboult simply won't be competitive unfortunately.

I'd rather go with a faster forward line with Hendo down back and Rowe out.

Tutt - Walker
Rowe - Buckley
White - Byrne
Smith - Cripps
Curnow - Graham or Whiley

IN: Whiley, Cripps, Buckley, Walker and Byrne.

Need pace and run?

Just add Tex, Byrne and Bucks.

Cripps and Whiley will add plenty of grunt. Graham deserves a go more then Whiley though.

I know that our team can do so much better in this season alone if we simply stop trying to carry too many slow players with poor skills. Going in with Bell, Curnow, Ellard and Carazzo murdered us against the Eagles.

Won't be attending but will end up watching (even though i swore not to watch any game involving the cheating scum) expecting the usual one change instead of the many needed to send messages....... ie IN - Walker OUT - White

I'll be yelled down as a Debbie Downer but just can't see us winning against anyone at the moment....the first 2 rounds have been painful to watch and we just look soooooo far away from a 4 quarter effort.

The Cheats by 4-5 goals :(

in: more attack
out: boundary line.

can't play ellard, curnow, bell, carrazzo in the same side. 2 of these types max.

But when Casboult goes into the ruck... it leaves Jones as our sole tall? And he's a 3rd option at best.

Walker will fix that problem. Besides, it should only be the case for 30% of the game. The rest of the time, Wood should be rucking.

Graham and Buckley surely have to come into our side. We lack guys who can rack up touches (Graham & Whiley) & pace and intensity (Buckley).

In: Cripps, Graham, Buckley, Armfield & Whiley
Out: Ellard, Tutt, White, Carrazzo, Smith

I'd rather have 1 mediocre tall up forward then two/three. Give the mids and smalls a chance to apply pressure.

Wood or Warnock rest up forward if we need another statue up forward.
I understand. But Jones is hardly a tall forward. If you were to go in with just the two (including the Cas) than I'd have Watson ahead of Mr Invisibl... Jones.

Shock omission: Menzel - can't coast on magic alone. Win the hard ball, son.

It's Whiley time!

Toss up for the sub this week. Ball-magnet Graham stiff but Boeky gets the nod.

Henderson Jamison Docherty
Tuohy Rowe Simpson
Curnow Judd Carrazzo
Everitt Casboult Walker
Buckley Jones Yarran
Wood Gibbs Murphy
Bell Armfield Whiley Boekhorst (sub)

emerg: Menzel, Watson, Graham

out: Menzel, White (inj), Ellard, Tutt, Smith
in: Whiley, Walker, Armfield, Buckley, Boekhorst

You do realise Boekhorst has done 2 thirds of **** all so far right? We might be bad but we aren't a charity case yet. Would give Walker a proper run out rather than the U18 game before rushing him back too. Also we are list bereft of talent we can't go dropping one of the 5 or 6 we have that has some after a couple of quiet nights

Agree on Boekhurst. We still have 20 odd more rounds left to introduce him. No rush yet.

Walker on the other hand is in his 10th + season. Not sure he really needs to many runs before he comes back.
