Slipped or broken tackles imo shouldn’t count. A couple the player having possession of the football is very loosely applied.

In those examples though Martin managed to either force the ball free from the opposition or created an ineffective possession, which is a definition of what a tackle is.

I think all of them are except maybe the first, but it's pretty close to it.

Not sure what your problem with it is, they are just interpreting the rules correctly.

Touching someone while they are near a football isn't a tackle, what you have described is not listed in the rules.

Effective tackles: To be rewarded with an effective tackle, you must force a stoppage, win a free kick, dispossess your opponent or force them into an ineffective disposal. Wrapping up a player who gets a clean handball away will not get you a tackle on the stats sheet.

Martin got his hands on each of those players and affected their disposal, if he held on to them longer he'd have a free against him for holding the man.
Given Martin's strength it's quite interesting to see the effect he has on the opposition from a little physical contact.

All up, he was correctly awarded a tackle in each of those instances.

Glad we can move on from this little issue, imagine making a thread about it :drunk:

Tempted to bring in Piggy Oliver this week, but worried about the hard tag that Jacobs will no doubt apply. Need a replacement for M Crouch. It was Ying and Yang for Oliver against North last year. 91 in the first game and 170 in the second.

Think long term, not just this week.

Oliver a good pick for the season.

Was thinking Oliver, Mclean or Simpson via DPP. I'm concerned my mids are almost too strong at the moment. Have JOM at M7 and have good scoring rooks on the pine. Can swing Mclean forward or Simpson back. I want Oliver, but just tossing up whether the time to get him is now.

Current mids: Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, M Crouch, Crips, Cogs, JOM, Kelly (Brayshaw, Banfield, Holman).

Geelong's FWD/Mid Splits from Monday:
Danger 58% FWD / 42% MID = 130 SC
Ablett 9% FWD / 91% MID = 144 SC
Selwood 2% FWD / 98% MID = 140 SC

I'm never gonna get that Danger campaigner in my team this year, am I?

Agreed you need to get Holman on the field.

Keep playing him fwd for that mid/fwd status next year! Whitfield down back and danger fwd hmmmm.

Had a plan with two sacrificial lambs in the forward line to bring him in though they're scoring keeper like and more and more thinking **** it. Let everyone else chase him and I'll just strengthen my team. Every 130+ will no doubt hurt but as Gloria Gaynor said, "I will survive."

I finally brought Holman onto the field in place of Brayshaw, so sorry to everyone with Holman on field when he scores 20 this week.

Reverse

Looking forward to the league match.
Bring it on!!!

Lol - two rounds in and i have to focus on SC H2H league to keep my SC interest going - as my overall rank is shocking :'(:'(
