Zaharakis named as ruck rover, just have to chuckle at that. He won’t line up there when the game starts but again wouldn’t be suprised to see him at stoppages where he has proven time and time again he is the difference in there ;)

Holy Sh!t. We are going in with Clarke, TBC and Smack. Hope I am wrong, but can’t see this ending well.

Wholesale changes really won't fix anything. I don't mind these changes considering Woosh's autopick policy.

Baby steps people.

I probably wouldn't call dropping at least one of Zaharakis, Myers or Baguley 'wholesale'...
This seems to scream that we are pretty content with how we're tracking (or our depth youth are a million miles off the pace)

Also, it really is sad that the club refers to Langord as an 'inside mid'

Post sheedy timeline, james hird: boys we need to inject some pace and take the game on dont worry too much about defence. Mark thomson: defence wins games and if we can kick a goal or two that will be great. Worsfold: Defence or attack aint gunna cut it we need something else preferably a gameplan or sumting

It is time we added frotting to the game plan.

I'm happy with Mutch in. Ok with Z.Clarke. Ok with Brown and Langford being dropped.

Unhappy that all of Myers, Baguley or Zaharakis are in. At least one of them should have been dropped.

I suspect that Laverde's injury allowed Baguley to survive. D.Clarke should have been in over Myers.
Would have included at least one of Ridley or Redman.

O well. At this point, I don't care about who takes the field anymore. Just win.

Baguley yes. The other two, well when they play better we are better.

Two ruck set up, guessing whoever doesn't ruck must go forward to replace Brown, so that's simple enough.

And then an inside mid replaced by an outside mid. I wonder if that means more inside midfield time for the likes of Parish, McGrath, Zaharakis, maybe Walla and Fantasia? Get them involved in the game more?

I dunno doesn't make that much sense atm

It occurred to me that there is no one to being into the side anyway.

Only real problem is Clarke. Would prefer Draper. I assume that Stewart is not in the country.

Mutch in is about as meh as it gets.

Nah Myers is probably the worst of the 3. He plays well once in a blue moon. Lumbers around for the rest. Baguley and Zaharakis play good games far more frequently.

Yeah, but like 15 players are currently well under par. I don't care where the improvement comes from.

I’m fine with changes..just wish there were more of them.

Clarke is the obvious inclusion to stretch the Melbourne defence (think he is more capable than some on here believe...we’ll see) and Mutch adds balance to the team with his height, endurance, work rate and marking ability.

I would have shown two more the door but that’s just me.

Ridley must be filthy. How he is out of the team is baffling....

I imagine Clarke coming in is to battle Gawn. Gawn has been worked over pretty well the last couple of weeks by a two ruck set up (Ryder-Lycett and Grundy-Cox) so i imagine Woosha is trying to emulate that success.
Would havebeen great to see Draper get a go but against the best ruck in the AFL last year in Gawn it would have been steep.

Good to see Mutch in again, although i would have thought his game style was a better swap for Zaharakis stylistically.

I know we all want wholesale changes, but who are we bringing in to add to our midfield (and no an injured forward in Laverde and woeful kicking Clarke do not count) that will move the needle?

Its round three, lets not give up on the next 21 rounds yet....

I'm curious actually, Draper is named as an emergency. If this keeps up and the two rucks thing works perhaps Draper gets a shot at it soon enough.

Future selections on that score will be shaped by the form (and continuing existence) of James Stewart and Mitch Brown though, and Daniher being available again once that calf is right. At that point perhaps it's a Smack&T-Bell two ruck set up and Daniher/Brown go forward. Lots of possible combinations. But one can dream..
