We were rubbish last year because all our older players were either injured, playing crap, or unfit and our younger players were inexperienced. This year pretty much all our older players are in great form, Kerr was slow to begin with but came good as the game went on, Cox and Embley 2005,2006 form, even nicoski. This has taken the burden off our kids like shuey, scott selwood etc and the team has been freshened up with the youngsters Darling and Gaff.

I dont think Jetta and Rohan are more advanced than our young players however, look at Darling this weekend for example and the likes of shuey selwood and ebert are on par for size and experience with the likes Hannebry etc. You may say this because of the Swans older players last year took the burden off the likes of Jetta. I think however, this will be a close and exciting game, to show a glimpse of both of our futures.

thats a laugh, nicoski in good form :p

Remember, they'll be doing it for this man.

me thinks you guys are overrating yourselves and underrating us. When was the last time you thrashed us at subiaco. Our ruck duo should comfortably beat mumford and the return of Kerr and the Reemergance of Embley and the rise of Shuey, should make this game a good even contest. Eagles may have only beaten poor teams at the moment but swans form isnt much better with drawing to the terrible melbourne and only sneaking past Essendon, both bottom eight teams from last year. Hopefully the game will be a good free flowing affair, with good young players on both sides

Disagree, having watched most Eagles games last year, and their games this year, as well as most Swans games I think I'm in a fairly good position to tell.

Swans are easily a better side than eagles this year, and form is much better, Kangaroos didn't have a ruckman, and Port are just plain Poor.

Embley was given way too much space vs Port, and will not be given the same leeway vs Swans, and Kerr is a shadow of the player he used to be.

Mumford will hold his own in the ruck, might be beaten, but in pretty much every other position on the ground it is hard to find another position the Eagles will win.

Nic Nat is over rated and over hyped, he does a couple of good things per game and then goes missing, great athelete but pretty ordinary player. Cox is the best ruck in the comp, amazing player!

Cox the best ruck? There's a bloke at Freo who might beg to differ ... and let's get some perspective. Cox has been in good form so far this season, but this season is two games old. He was pretty crap the past two seasons, so much so that Jamar, Mumford and even D Jolly could lay claim to being ahead of him.

Let's see how Cox goes over the next month or so.

Rough call on Naitanui. While average around the ground, his tapwork would be top 3-4 in the league. Naitanui has for more taps to advantage than Cox.

Regardless, it's clear you don't watch him every week and are going by the standard BF view. You will see come Saturday night.

I rate NicNat. In fact, I think eventually he's going to be every bit as good as the likes of Paddy Ryder. He's got more size about him than Ryder, and is just as athletic. Sooner or later he's going to have a huge breakthrough game and I hope it's not tomorrow night, but there's no doubt he's a major part of West Coast's rebuilding.

Along with Shuey, Scott Selwood and the kid who got dropped, Brad Sheppard. The former Hoodoo Gurus guitarist will bounce back, no doubt.

If we were able to lock down an incredibly quick team like Essendon.... i think we will easily be able to do the same to the Eagles and if we hit our targets this week then i reckon we will win comfortably... last week half our kicks landed in the oppositions laps.

I'll be happy for a win and a good game from JPK as he's letting my dreamteam down.
WCE looked alright last week but when Waters went off they lost a really good player.
Hope Johnson goes OK and we have a win for the Skipper!

Just realised tomorrow night's game will see Jude Bolton equal John Rantall's 260 games for the Bloods, and will see him become our equal third highest games player.

Amazing that that would then mean the top three have all come from the last decade, a testament to the teams' success, and the Roos coaching style.

That IS a genuine milestone for a genuine club champion. And I, too, must make amends for a NAB Cup comment about Jude seeming to have lost the pace of the game.

It's quite obvious he's going strong. A mighty footballer.

You must remmember that all the old stars like Skilton, Clegg, only use to play in eighteen rounds of football with no finals, unlike now. Saying that the last 15 years have been I feel the most successful in the clubs history.

Well done Jude

That's what I was trying to say. That the medical staff were able to keep these guys on the park - I think ROK, Kirk, Goodes, Bolton, Hall and others all had incredibly long consecutive games streaks at one point or another - and that Roos could get such a high level out of them that they demanded selection constantly, AND that we were playing finals, is more an indication of why these guys are right up there in games played now, rather than the extended season.
