Coughlan ---> Geary/Tuck
Mattner ---> Thornton

Pretty much 30/70 chance of doing this trade, but about a 90/10 chance of getting rid of Coughlan. Don't know why I picked him at the beginning, was in a bit of a daze. Need to gain some cash, and I don't want him sitting on my bench for much longer.

Mattner to Thornton has the potential to be at worst a sideways trade, but Thornton has the potential to be a great player this year. I can't see Mattner consistently averaging over 70 when Kennely hits form.

Ideally, I would do:
Coughlan ---> Geary
Proud ---> Thornton

But I'm about 10,000 short. Proud is on my starting line-up, and has failed to 'woo' me so far, with no guarantee he will hold his spot in the team.

Sorry for thinking out loud, any guidance will be appreciated. :thumbsu:

Please note; I can only afford ONE of these and only plan to make one of them... Which would you choose out of;

1. N Jones -> M Murphy, OR
2. K Tippet -> J Hill

Both will make money. By trading Jones to Murphy, I'm effectively stopping myself from having to make a trade in the future because if he keeps up his average (or thereabouts), he is a keep all year. Whereas I think Jones will just hover around that 70 mark.
The second will quite simply make cash.

Coughlan to Geary, is positive, but I wouldn't upgrade Mattner just yet.

Wait for one of your cash cows to have made some dough - downgrade him to the next one yet to play 3 games and upgrade Mattner to a premium.

Thornton may be doing alright, but he's no premium, and sooner or later, he'll be asked to play that Key Back role again, and he won't be providing the points he is currently.

Why anyone would trade out Salopek after a 77 (74% game time against Geelong) and a 76 (Against the worst DT against team) is beyond me

Why?? its a sideways trade and a waste in my opinion. Same sort of player and if the opposition keep taging Kennelly Mattner will only become more important to Sydney. In my opinon Mattner could be a keeper for a 6th or 7th back for the year.

I'm trading Scott Selwood -> Thornton (I have 166k in the bank)

Thats probably all this week, my team is looking good (250th overall). Although I really want to trade Tippett for Stokes/Gamble (stupid I know!)

I have a very solid team, however I have to start four cash cows -
Back: Proud
Back: Houli, Palmer/Bird
Back: Gamble/Rioli

So how does this trade sound -

Coughlan ---> Geary/Jack
Tippett ---> Hill

Than in a few weeks time, Hill ---> Tippett and either

Proud ---> ?
Symes ---> Premium
Mattner ---> Premium

I'm considering trading Nathan Jones to James Kelly, has averaged 116 so far and they are playing Melbourne next week so you would expect he'll get around that mark again, could be a nice pick-up...(Also considering M.Murphy, but favour J.Kelly more)
I'm also thinking about trading Tippett to Hill, as Tippett isn't 100% & Hill looks like he'll be a great cash cow, that can more than hold his own when played in people's starting line-up...
Thoughts...?

Stick with jones he is sure to improve after the dees come out of their rut. He will average 80 imo. The other trade sounds ok but i don't see the point in trading out tippet to another cash cow, i'm keeping him.

Kelly's price is very good, but I can see his scores dropping off a bit.

Depends how much you're expecting him to average.

Alipate Carlile anyone? Before you cut me down and explain he's a key position backman and won't score heavily hear me out. He's $139,500....last two rounds have been 50 and 79 against Geelong and Sydney. Looks set to play all games. Is providing some run from the full back line. Those back bench positions have been causing serious headaches. I have players like Lachlan Hansen, Proud and Scott Thompson....I'm not sure if any of those players will play most games....thoughts please and perhaps some alternative options would be appreciated.

Thanks guys, I'm leaning more towards Marc Murphy now, scored 122 in a losing side and is cheaper, when Judd is fit, Murph will get less attention and they'll get considerably more of the ball...
If Murphy is named in the on-ball division when the teams come out, I can't see myself talking myself out of it...I can't see Melbourne improving much, and with Melbourne playing Geelong this week, that's another below 70 score for Jones, so his price will fall steadily most probably...

This may not be relevant to this thead but what does everyone think about Fevola.

He was sort-of cheap and I think his score will go higher soon.

Whats with Josh Hill.... everyone wants him:eek:

Dont really like Fev as a DTer.....to inconsistant.

Everyone wants Hill because he is probably the biggest cash cow atm. His price will sky rocket come round 3 and he is a very good long term investment.

I am formulating a plan to get him in my team :D.

I'm considering downgrading Fevola to Hill this week, the extra 200k in the bank will be nice too.

But then i will have 2 of the following in my starting lineup, Hill, Rioli, Gamble, Tippet. Too risky with 2 rookie starters in ym fwd line?
