Jekyll and Hyde footy today.
Horrible third quarter and the inability to stop their run on. So fumbly by hand.

First half had a bit to like though.

Go at it.

This is the reality of where we are at as a side atm. It all fell apart in the second half, but this is what we signed up for by moving on Mitchell and O'Meara, and let's be real, what many on this board were begging for in 2019-21. This is exactly the kind of experience our young midfield needs – we clearly have no idea how to stem the tide when the opposition gets momentum out of the centre. They need reps.

It wasn't a fun watch and you can choose to be mad our ability to execute a gameplan, folding under pressure and our errors. Lots to work on and lots of players had down days. But let's not conflate that with a lack of effort. We 100% cracked in. It makes the games more enjoyable to just hone in on these positives during a development year. Day was brilliant, our first half showed an improved ability to defend the switch, Impey played his best game in years.

It would be very stupid and delusional to say I'm happy with that. I'm not, it was shit. But this will probably happen a few times more this year. Just gotta ride the bumps, look for the good stuff and move onto next week

When the rain came, their bigger bodies and senior heads took over our young midfield.

Will day is gonna be a gun.

Reeves, wingard, maginness, brockman (injury) out
