He is nothing like Mason except for his blonde hair, just because they are similar in build doesn't mean they are even remotely close as players

Those two responses have very different meanings.

#George , how much do I need to pay you to give the next person who mentions Highmore as a possible replacement for Wood a week ban

You mentioned it again. You love it a little bit too much I think.

You sure are some random crazy bastard at times 🤣

I'd love to see you and Dr Spaceman together. It must be like the odd couple- Mr Grumpy and Mr Happy. Are you like a finicky neat freak and Spacey sleeps in his clothes and has piles of shit all over his house?

Bloody hell, Brisbane and Port have 1 injury each! One! With Brisbane’s being just a “test” for Gardiner.

Their medical/fitness staff do a remarkable job.

Our injured players have injuries. That's so unfair.

Well that just really shows how much you can read a person on here, you crack me up , please continue

Another great insight. Listen to the players speak about Ross. Pretty sure each one has mentioned how simple easy and the amount of clarity he has given them about their roles.

Yes I have noticed that as well.

Just on this, I posted on the forum last year how I had bumped into a Saints fan on a Cambridge (England) Park and Ride Bus a young guy who claimed to Ben Long's best mate. I was wearing my St Kilda Members Cap and so he just started talking Saints with me.

He relayed that Ben Long was confused by the coaching and had no idea what Ratten expected his role to be.

So no surprise, when Long asked to be traded at season's end.

I is also no surprise that now all of our players actually know what their roles are that we are doing much better.

PS. I then thought that his "mum" piped up to join in on talking Saints. But lol she was instead not his mum, but was the sister of our former CEO Jim Watts. Only say about four other people on the bus, plus the driver. Two were our friends. So 4 of 7 passengers were Sainters!

I thought Crouch was kept off the play in the middle of the game last week when Essendon got back into it, and Sincs seemed to be in the midfield for a while but with little effect. Clark did a few good things but didn't really make a huge impact. Gresh is not a midfielder, more a small forward. We need some sure hands in there, and Bytel should be in the mix.

Was a fantastic night at the MCG Saturday night. I've only just had a chance to watch the replay and I have to say the ONLY negatives for the night would be the performance of Gresham and Cordy. More so Gresham as he just butchered the footy all night and was selfish.

If Ross wants to keep the boys sharp, I'd be at least dropping Gresham.

In: Bytel Campbell Paton
Out: Webster Gresham Cordy (Sub)

Stocker Howard Wilkie
Sinclair Battle NWM
Wood Ross Byrnes
Phillipou Owens Higgins
Butler Camminiti Campbell

Marshall Crouch Clark

Windhager Bytel Hill Paton
Cordy/Highmore/Peris (Sub)

Or, they’re not competitive or going hard enough to acquire collision injuries.….
broken shoulder, broken collarbone, broken hand, broken cheekbone, broken foot…..I have no excuses for the calves and Membrey’s knee 🤣🙄

Massive test for our midfield this week - Witts , Miller , Anderson , Rowell are no push overs - Hopefully Marshall has a massive game.

Top of the ladder with a chance to go 4-0 this week.

Brilliant young kids in Owens, Windhager, Nas, Pou & Caminiti (plus others currently at Sandy or injured)

Terrific performances from refurbished players such as Wood and Stocker.

Usual brilliant displays from Wilkie & Marshall and improved input from the oft injured talents such as Gresh & Hunter.

Plus many more.

Plus, of course, RTB’s totally in charge leadership.

Given the above it’s very easy to forget that it was less than 4 weeks ago when our whole season was about to come crashing down over some leaked practice match audio 🤪

Put my hand up - I was terrified about the fall out from the audio (happy to be proven wrong!).

Will be very tough this week against a reasonable team as the players come down from a huge game, more injuries and probably the young guys are starting to get tired/sore.

Just need to scrounge a win any way we can!

Just wanted to say how awesome it is to genuinely be looking forward to watching the saints each week. Haven't had that feeling for a very long time.

Especially impressive considering we have so many players unavailable who would 100% be getting a game if they were fit. You can say that not all of the following are best 22, but I guarantee that they would be in the side if they were fit and the rest of our injury list remained the same:

Billings
Coffield
Hayes
Jones
King
McKenzie
Membrey
Steele
Webster

Then we have Wood and Stocker who may be unavailable this week as well.

Plus I think Hotton, Keeler and McLennan would all be a sneaky chance if fit.

Despite all that, I'm looking forward to the game and think we're a huge chance to win it.

Awesome work by all involved at the club. I love that our list is largely made up of proven AFL quality players and kids with significant potential rather than having a massive chunk of the list taken up by plodders who will never make it. For the last 10-12 years it's been pretty easy to predict who is getting delisted at the end of the season. Right now there are a few fighting for their spot on the list but no certainties.
