I’d just select Naismith from the bench - he’s been in great form…takes contested marks, slots goals, very competitive ruck. Gets others involved…creates play

Him and Nank switch between ruck and resting forwardt w
Kosi did mark quite well as a forwrd, Nais has been kicking goals as a ruck, he wasn't great round zero, when he played as KPF. Nank is not great up fwd either.

Toss up.

I would say his game was half decent and only by comparison to his first 3 games which were utter s**t. Averaged 11.5 touches over the first 3 games playing midfield… 1 game doesn’t change that. He’s had a block of 4. Go back to the vfl and get 2 bogs like McCauliffe

You sound like Karen Cornes with your ability to use stats to suit your argument….of course when u include a shocker against GC his averages won’t be good.

What about his averages in the last 3 x games all against likely finalists?

Disposals: 15.3
CP: 8.3
SI’s: 5.3
Clearances: 3.7
Clangers: just 1.7

And you want to drop him when those were games 19, 20 and 21 of his career, with game 21 being the best of the 3?

I believe we have a player in Dow. Not sure what heights he will hit, but why on earth wouldn’t we keep giving him games so he can hopefully take the next step during 2024?

To answer your question, because there’s a player playing much better than him and he’s what, 4 years younger ? Dow has had a fair go. Go back to vfl and dominate and then come back into the side. To try and make a point about him averaging 15 disposals seems ridiculous as a midfielder ?

And stats aren’t everything but he certainly doesn’t pass the eye test, plays scared of contact and when he does try to tackle they’re nearly always broke

Amassed a whopping 6 tackles in 4 games… stats back up the eye test

Especially since he has no contact for next year
It would be doing both Dow and us a disservice if we don’t actually give him a proper go when he is essentially playing decent footy

He’s got the skills shown it a couple of times now, it’s all between the ears now so if the club shows confidence in him that’s how we are going to see his confidence build and actually see if we have a long term player or not

Good post. He will make it as a player. Young players can be hot and cold in their performances.

Hopefully Koschitzke doesn't play it will be far too tall if all of Nank, Naismith, Dusty & Lefau all play.
To be fair though, I don't think Dusty has the height to make us too tall.

He plays tall though, yes he is good at ground level. but that would be way too tall trust me Norwood Oval is insanely narrow we need some run or we will get cut up through corridor.

We’re going to be cut up either way. Saints are full of skilful players who run all day

He’s still not in yet and two of Ryan’s goals were from frees. I don’t want either of them in as Kosi is not up to it and Ryan has to develop in the VFL for another 15years. lol.
