JGTI too slow for the Saints IMO, legend and all, but give him a game vs the WCE

Naismith and McAuliffe 'in' for me

love McAuliffe's balance, always finishes a contest bouncing on his toes
You forgetting the 🐐🐐🐐

No video calling his folks, so I doubt KMAC2 will be in even though He deserves to be as he's been our best player in the first 2 reserves games.

We should go with one tall forward only this Norwood ground is 31 m narrower than the MCG.

There will be a lot of kicking through the corridor due to the very narrow wings. Hope the MC dont play both Kosi and Crayfish better we go a smaller forward line and bring the ball to ground and let the small forwards do their thing.

At a guess, the interchange will be; Miller Naismith or Kosi, Graham, Sonsie
^ I cannot see 3 talls being selected on the interchange bench). Miller was out best back last week, he stays.

Sub; Banks (though I wouldn't mind Ralpsmith)

Miss the cut, McAuliffe, (One of Kosi or Naismith), RalphSmith

To answer your question, because there’s a player playing much better than him and he’s what, 4 years younger ? Dow has had a fair go. Go back to vfl and dominate and then come back into the side. To try and make a point about him averaging 15 disposals seems ridiculous as a midfielder ?

And stats aren’t everything but he certainly doesn’t pass the eye test, plays scared of contact and when he does try to tackle they’re nearly always broke

Amassed a whopping 6 tackles in 4 games… stats back up the eye test
And he cannot kick more than about 35-40 metres

In fairness we do have 7-8 of our best 23 out injured or suspended.

Not really. Lynch, Balta, Hopper, Baker definitely best 22.

Grimes is probably not anymore, Prestia has been pretty average for a few years so we are not really getting the old Prestia.
Gibcus is the future, but is he a better defender right now than Young who takes the key forwards, of Miller who is a similar sort of player. So not really missing him other than getting games into him.

We have some depth, more than we thought, so much so, how does Graham walk back in who is not best 23 anymore.

You sound like Karen Cornes with your ability to use stats to suit your argument….of course when u include a shocker against GC his averages won’t be good.

What about his averages in the last 3 x games all against likely finalists?

Disposals: 15.3
CP: 8.3
SI’s: 5.3
Clearances: 3.7
Clangers: just 1.7

And you want to drop him when those were games 19, 20 and 21 of his career, with game 21 being the best of the 3?

I believe we have a player in Dow. Not sure what heights he will hit, but why on earth wouldn’t we keep giving him games so he can hopefully take the next step during 2024?

He needs to take that step now while he has the chance and the team needs him. As you say the trajectory is in the positive.

He gives us something a bit different, a bit of creativity. If Martin, Bolton, Dow, Ross and Taranto get going properly, it's a creative midfield mix. Add MacAuliffe, who is a bullocking hard at the ball type with a good foot. We suddenly have a good midfield.

Two words: Premiership player.

Form, match fitness and team balance clearly have nothing to do with it.

Kmac2 and Hugo's good VFL form being acknowledged with selection. Banks, Sonsie and Kmac2 are contending for last spot on the bench & sub. Kmac2 is a SA boy. Family isn't far away.

Had a good win Sonsie SUB?

Anyone who wants Graham in this side can * off. Absolute plodder.
Can’t remember the last time he played a good game… kept getting picked under dimma though. Yze needs to make some tough calls.

I can send you something from 2017 if you have really forgotten…….but agree he hasn’t really progressed. Has one more year of credits to do something under Yze.

lost it at selection

Max King is gonna kick 12 goals
