Round 5 Trades

Hmmmmm Byrnes downhill skiing to a ton against GWS has made it hard to trade him out now he will make some money for a couple of rounds.

Viney to Evans is flavour of week.

Unsure whether to get Mayes with Martin/Neade or trade to premium.

Cows (Pittard, Heath, Stevenson, Terlich, O'Meara, Crouch, Neade, Dwyer, Rowe) all with good BE. None putting their hand up to be traded out just yet.

Viney --> Evans
Bartel --> Mayes

I'm not certain I will get rid of Bartel but I've watched every game and I'm just not convinced as to his DT value. Still an absolute champ, and has stepped up when we have needed him, but I don't know if he has that spring in his step, particularly in the easier games.

agreed totally, I have traded out Bartel this week too

Bartel -> Cloke
Varcoe (finally!! yes!!) -> Mayes

which leaves me a nice 252k in the bank for a premo upgrade next week. I feel I need to get one more premo defender (I currently have Birchall, Gibbs, Goddard, Goodes, Pittard, Terlich, Docherty, Vlastuin) to get my team structure right....

I for one prefer getting Mayes instead of Evans this week. Mayes has a pretty tasty BE of -80.

Mayes did pretty well in a quite frankly pisspoor effort against Roos today, and I'd back him to outscore Evans this week. I just see the Lions midfield running this show, especially at the Gabba.

Two totally overdue trades...
Varcoe > Mayes
Longer > Cloke (Rowe to R3)

I too am backing Mayes over evans

I need to play one of them on the field if i were to bring them in, so I want score not only cash generation

Evans has the lower B/E and the lower price
But he's got a 50odd and 111 including 3 goals and a big last quarter against GWS

Mayes has got a 95 and a 70odd
Mayes has Melbourne this week, Mayes is also DPP

I'm backing Mayes in to score higher this week and and average higher over the duration of his time in my team.

Wish i could get Birchal mayes and Evans but it'll have to be just Mayes and Birch this week

Oh and of course now that i've said all this i'll jinx everything

This.

I think I've missed the boat on Birchall, but we'll see how much cash I have next week for a sideways trade. Only got 43k left after upgrading to Cloke this week.
And hopefully not the italics come true...:D

This is probably the cheapest I'll find Franklin and I want to get on board trading Bartel but his history has him averaging 99-101 over the next 4 weeks. Anyone know if he'll move out of the backline? I could go Neade to Franklin but I'm confident I'll win this week and would rather use the cash I've saved for JPK/Deledio - Swan after round 5

To maximise cash I'm going Goldstein>Leuey and Viney>Evans...just can't see Mayes being worth the extra 50 g's and with the 111 rolling around for Evans he will shoot up for a couple of weeks.

334k in the bank.

I'm thinking:

Viney -> Evans
Stevenson -> Birchall

I'm worried about missing out on cash generation though (Mayes in particular), especially when I still have kommer on the bench. However, Kommer could be back next week so potentially not a huge issue to hold him (but it will mean missing one more price rise).

It would be a huge point boost getting Birchall. It gives me a back 6 of Birchall, Heppell, Gibbs, Goddard, Hartlett and Goodes with Pittard/Terlich on the bench. If nothing else it removes the headache of choosing which one of Pittard/Terlich/Stevenson to field each week. With 151 in his rolling average and a be of 55 he will only get harder to obtain in coming weeks).

With plenty more bubble rookies to come next week (Daw, Gawn, O'hAilpin, Docherty, Kerridge and Paparone) I'm hoping that missing one now won't hurt too much.

I'm thinking next week:

Currie -> Daw/Gawn
Whitfield (or Kommer if not named) -> Kerridge

keep your wild and crazy ideas to yourself! :p

Contemplating this.

Bartel > Mayes
Viney > Evans

Leaves me with 1,220,700 in the bank for upgrades down the line.

Have wanted to upgrade the last two weeks but juicy downgrade targets and decent scores from them are leaving me with a weakish team (still winning my league games though) but lots of cash. Would rather rake it in now and get my team right once the downgrade targets dry up. Don't really care about my place overall, just league wins.

:eek: where are you on the overall rankings? Either you've shot yourself in the foot with that much cash or you've got a genuine shot at the car.
Edit: just read you're not interested in overall, but I'd still like to know where you are placed!

Was hoping to go Lucas - Evans, then Pittard to Hartlett....

But I'm 8K short.... I can get there if I go Wines to Evans, then Pittard to Hartlett.....

Are you seriously considering trading out a rookie who is averaging 102 and has a B/E of -37 just to get Hartlett into your team? :confused:

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm keeping Wines until at least the MBR's. Might even end up an M9/10 keeper if he can pull a Greene 2012. LOL actually before this weeks trades Wines is currently my M3 on average/points scored. :oops:

12,919 at the end of Rd. 4. Scored 2050 this round. Made some poor choices early (Zorko over Rockliff - d'oh! Watts).

Nope... But given your position in the BF Div 2 ladder, you're not in a position to criticise.... :p:D

No, just wishing I had another 8K... Looks like I'll be back to quite boring trades this week....

Fair enough, probably sounds about right. I was very lucky with those 2 players you talk about. Had both in until the last minute then swapped Zork for Rocky and ditched Watts. If you're winning your league games with that much cash looks like you're primed to take out the trophy.
