Fair enough, probably sounds about right. I was very lucky with those 2 players you talk about. Had both in until the last minute then swapped Zork for Rocky and ditched Watts. If you're winning your league games with that much cash looks like you're primed to take out the trophy.

No, I'll find a way to mess this up.

I've been lucky in the past few weeks that Westhoff (jumped on early) and Scooter have scored big, plus Hartlett, Jack, etc. Got some things right.

I have about 13 cows, all of whom are expected to make cash should they play (and they all should, except for Kommer and perhaps Viney/Caff). Evans and Mayes are tempting, but you need to strike a balance between picking up the cows and steadily improving your side. Then again, the cows don't come along every week.

Bartel has a BE of 131 and I don't like his defensive role. I also don't think Libba will meet his BE of 100 against the cats (he is a clearance player and we saw what happened to JPK). I'm thinking of trading these 2 for SJ and Jelwood. The trade may not net me immediate points, but the Cats have a a good run coming up and only 2 of these 4 blokes are proven keepers.

Leaves me with 1,220,700 in the bank for upgrades down the line.

Have wanted to upgrade the last two weeks but juicy downgrade targets and decent scores from them are leaving me with a weakish team (still winning my league games though) but lots of cash. Would rather rake it in now and get my team right once the downgrade targets dry up. Don't really care about my place overall, just league wins.

Is it worth getting Mayes and Evans, then risk a low score by playing Blicavz/Daw (got Kreuz injured on the bench, was gonna get rid of him for Goldy) or just getting one of Mayes or Evans and upgrading K-Dog?

Hmmmmm Byrnes downhill skiing to a ton against GWS has made it hard to trade him out now he will make some money for a couple of rounds.

Viney to Evans is flavour of week.

Unsure whether to get Mayes with Martin/Neade or trade to premium.

Cows (Pittard, Heath, Stevenson, Terlich, O'Meara, Crouch, Neade, Dwyer, Rowe) all with good BE. None putting their hand up to be traded out just yet.

I'm getting Mayes for Martin (and the standard Viney for Evans) The last 2 games against Freo Martin has scored in the 60's and was tagged. I'm expecting one of my forward rookies to outscore Martin, just have to choose the right one.

Then next week hopefully 2 of Mundy, Fyfe and Murphy for Swan and Watson.

Then I have 430k in the bank with a backline link to my midfield and 2 mid-fwd links so I can trade in 3 gun mids between rounds 6 & 8 without needing to trade O'Meara or Wines

Bartel has a pretty bad role at the moment whilst mayes is scoring just as well and has the demons this week who leak points. Vineys sub affected score will see him increase very little in price.

This is not as big an issue as it was in the past. In previous years you needed cows to make your money but with the trades you can make cash with premiums.

Usually by round 14 or 15 getting a good cow for last couple upgrades is tough but now

Round 14
2 Premiums that failed > 2 premiums that gunned it

Round 15
Trade 1 premium back to previous weeks at 100k profit (with increase and decrease)
+100k to upgrade plump rookie

Thinking twice about my downgrades. So now it's this:

Viney > Birchall (Hartlett into mids for a week or two)
Neade > Rockliff

Leaves me with 210k. I guess some more downgrade targets will present themselves in the future. Feels stupid to sit on too much money.

Would go Stevie J or Franklin ahead of Rocky. Just my personal opinion, I think the Lions are terrible this year and he is going to have some very sub par scores when they get trashed. He was lucky on Sunday to get what he did with some massive junk time in q4.

That's a good point actually. Ever since I chose Zorko over Rockliff at the start of the year I've been regretting it and trying to get him in, but your two suggestions might be smarter.

which option you like out of these?

- whitters/pittard > evans/hartlett - real upgrade ($0 left) but next round double downgrade for paparone/kerriage)
- viney/neade > mayes/evans - double downgrade but i only make 50k of mayes...
- bartel/stevenson > mayes/hartlett - sideways bartel for hartlett essentially....

i can do a double rookie cash grab this round but then i cant next round (want paparone/kerriage) since ill upgrade then....so its a matter of upgrade now and miss out of mayes or upgrade next round and miss out on one of paparone or kerriage.

See the dilemma, think upgrading this round just gives me the best option of points while ill still miss out of a rookie even i upgrade now or next round...

Most Likely, I usually do and use Ultimate footy to satisfy my random captaincy hunches.
