Callan Ward seems kissed on it at the moment, like Rance down back, so Ward's my JJ replacement, Ward only needs 20-25 possies and it's an easy ton it seems. He's not accumulating big numbers, he'll go mega once he starts knocking 30 a week up.

MacKenzie, Adams, Tippa and Dea are all making money so yolo down back until they start peaking then I will probably be able to double upgrade in one hit if their value is high.

Hope Stef comes up, if not hopefully Bucks gives Cox a run, he was elevated during the week so the time could be nigh

Just noticed Ward got free 6 kicks which inflated his 137 score.

Not sure if I should pick him or Sam Mitchell or even Dan Hannebery.

Hmmm. o_O
I like Mitchell, but 42 touches to accumulate his points? Ward has a very good DT -> SC ratio generally. Probably can't go wrong with either I suppose but Ward would be my pick

Yeah. Mitchells HB --> Kick ratio is ot good. He handpassed 31/32 times and kicked 12/13 times so a lot of points being lost due to that. He still rarely gets under 30 disposals so he should score well every week.

Ward has been awful so far in DT this season

I'm picking him in SC because his upside is gigantic once he gets more of the footy, he's not tackling much and only needs 20-25 possies to ton up, he seems to be second in line to Gazza for CDs golden boy mid

His score this week was inflated by his 6 free kicks but then balanced out by 1 tackle. My one knock against Ward is that he never really goes big in the last quarter. He's had many 100+ scores at 3 quarter time and then produced a 15-20 point last quarter and failed to convert them into 150s. Last week he was 70 at half time and ended up on 109.

How many points you get for winning a free kick? Imo his score wasn't inflated from 6 FKs

Look at it like this

Round 1 was easily his best game 28 possies 6 marks 2 goals: 110 DT, 142 SC

Then you look at
Round 2 23 possies (17 handballs): 74 DT, 97 SC
Round 3 18 possies (13 handballs) 4 marks 7 tackles: 89 DT, 109 SC
Round 4 24 possies 2 goals: 88 DT, 137 SC

Pretty mediocre output for a gun mid, yet his SC scoring is through the roof even though he's not accumulating

He is made for this game, whatever he is doing during games CD absolutely loves, just wait until he does start thrashing 30 possies out a week with increased mark/tackle numbers, the 150s will come then.

Any good cheap Fwds out there to swap Paps for?
Also should I unload M Crouch or Stringer first?

He usually has good disposal and you have to remember Port were horrendous so he was really under no pressure all game. From memory he had a stack of I50s and score involvements. 6 free kicks is about 25 points, which is significant already when talking about super premium scores. I don't really think his score this round came down to being a CD love child, he just played a really effective game against limp opposition.

But he has played two very good inside teams in Melbourne and Sydney already, while Geelong are improving in that area with Dangerfield coming in and players like Caddy contributing and still put up extremely solid scores from meh sort of games

Think he'll be a top 10er this year

He will be top 10 for sure. I had him last year and this year in draft.

Thoughts on Pearce Hanley?512k

Huge ceiling. What could he average?

Had him from the start, 467k was way under for him when he has history of averaging 115+. 512k is a different story though, Parker probably still ahead of him for not much more.

I like him, think Brisbane are an extremely relevant team at the moment surprisingly, Zorko might end up being the top fwd for etc

Injuries are the only knock on Hanley though, I'd definitely pick him if he were DPP though

Has Parker rested forward yet?

Seems like his good scores are coming from more midfield time

If he was DPP everyone under the sun would have him as a defender. Brisbane is the most relevant SC side this year...Zorko, Stef Martin, Beams, Rockliff, Robinson, Hanley and Rich.

He's pure mid now by the looks of it.

Think it was 2014 when he had a big injury and then came back and had an 8 week patch where was absolutely dominating.

Inside 50 doesn't mean anything in SC, myth busted

In itself it doesn't mean anything but kicking inside 50 gives you a much higher chance of a score involvement or assist. If you noticed I also said he was under no pressure from Port so a lot of his passes were effective.
