I watched Marshall closely last week, he has a wonderful game for SC. Locked as Saints #1 ruck.
Should have got him in earlier, but needed to be sure. If he was DPP, he would have come in on the bubble.

Also want ROB in my team. Have Bines ATM. Plan was to eventually get cover, and now is the perfect time.
Last year I had English at R3, and just before byes I was able to trade him to Sauce for about $60k. Sauce was good for me at R3 for the rest of the season.
Now I'm hoping that fellow Crow ROB can do the job.

Who to trade out?
Butters has the highest B/E, and has maybe $50k to make, but he has to go now. Has only been a bench warmer, so becoming Marshall (via Drew is huge).
Setterfield is a slow burn, and has that valuable DPP. But there's no guarantee he will be back after his 2 week suspension. With some potentially good rookies coming through soon I may not miss him.

Holding Petrucelle and Parker up forward (Rozee at F5), with Bines on the bench.
ROB goes to R3 for solid cover and dollar growth.
Drew goes to the MID bench, creating a MID-FWD link for the first time this year.

Result:
Butters > Marshall (via Drew)
Setterfield > ROB (via Bines)

PROS:
Gained MID-FWD link
Gained ruck cover
Gained one more (potential) keeper in Marshall

CONS:
Overall down about $100k in cash
Have one bench cover spot up FWD, down from two
Loss of potential earnings from Butters and Setterfield, though time will tell.

Still have some cash left over for hopefully another one up and one down.

Had to miss Stack, but I like the look of Ross. Heeney/Laird/Telly potential ins next week.

Neale 91
Grundy 100
Moore 79
Goldstein 99
Scott (in for Constable) 41

One of those 'almost' weeks on the cards at the moment.
Drew (50) and Duursma (38) in play currently.

Why would you trade a playing rookie instead a guy who won’t even make you 30k in four weeks time?
It opens a spot for some of the other mids coming through whom I believe will be better scorers & earner$. Besides, Atkins is a spud and a slow burner so it’s no loss.

Culled Butters early > ROB

Also kind of want Stack in. He looked a real natural in the second half last week even with the low score. Think he would have impressed the coaches and stay in the side a while.
Setterfield > Stack?

Setterfield useful for the DPP and loopholing abilities in mids
Scott > Ross next week
+ ~350k

Will leave me with 25 trades + cash for 1-2 upgrades.

Ha I wouldn't be jealous about culling Butters too soon. Wish I didn't do that now..\

I'm hoping to go Parker > Telly and Moore > Laird in a couple of weeks.

Kentstable to Scully

Hmmm what could go wrong

To do or not to do

Don't do it, bud. Even if Scully were to go 120+ this week it would still be a bad trade. You'd be better off downgrading Constable (or some other mid bench rookie) this week to Stack/Ross and use that cash to turf that bum Darling next week. With him losing so much value last night you're going to need all the cash you can to upgrade him, unless you see a forward downgrade for him before he bleeds more cash.

Pulled the trigger on Setterfield to O’Brien.

For trade 2, thoughts on the following...

OPTION 1: Burgess to Hore
OPTION 2: Parker to Hore (via Burgess)
OPTION 3: Balta to Hore (via Burgess)
OPTION 4: Gibbons to Stack
OPTION 5: Atkins to Stack

Pulled the trigger on Setterfield to O’Brien.

Option 2 the only one worth doing for mine. The others haven't made enough cash to downgrade just yet.

FWIW I ditched Gibbons for Hore this week

I've bitten the bullet.

Oliver > Libba

Sweet > ROB

Had to slaughter the Pig, he's bleeding too much cash and he's playing St Kilda today so I didn't want to be barracking for him to return to form against us.

Made about 140K off trading him to Libba and then spent about 34k of that to trade in ROB but he should more than make up for that as a cash cow.
