Mitch's comments re bringing in cutler and his leg speed opening up the game for us show he appreciates cutler in the team. My interpretation anyway.

And Lyons sees centre bounces as his baby and he makes sure they are set up properly - all about playing a role. I have visions of Lyons studying the opposition tapes every week and going out there with a chess like mind set - if they open with a, the next one will be b, that ruck uses this tap 70% of the time. That's the kind of essential single mindedness that differentiates wanna bes and contenders.

We are contenders baby!

Start of the second half it was interesting Lyons basically setup the centre bounce before then moving to the forward flank. It looked like we played him more forward against the Suns which might’ve fired him up.

Does that include the burst in the first five minutes? Cause that was impressive planning and execution.

I think he was in the centre for those. Seems his gameplan is to start behind his opponent to nullify that matchup to free up Neale to win the footy and I think he applied pressure which helped to get those centre clearances.

Maybe I was just more aware of it this week, but I also thought Lyons won more of the ball in general play this week. I remember one or two instances where he won hard ball around the HBF and set us up to go forward. In earlier rounds I feel like his contribution was heavily focussed at centre bounce.
