I totally agree. The inconsistency of the holding the ball frees today were terrible. The most inconsistent I have seen for some time. I think to be fair, the one with Addison, he didn't tackle him, he actually bumped him, I heard from a guy at the game who was listening to the call on radio. I still think it looked gone from my spot. The one against Lake was terrible, a guy for North should've been pinged for kicking in danger, where he nearly kicked Lake's head off.

There were a lot where our guys caught them red hot, the roos player incorrectly disposed of the ball, and play on. It really gave me the shits. I know North supporters thought they were getting the rough end, but overall, with the missed HTB calls that we didn't get, we copped the raw prawn!

This is not a bump. Perfect tackle

Well there you go. Like I said Igloo, I was just going by what a guy heard on radio. Watching the reply, maybe the umpire thought it was half in the back, half holding the ball. Now I watch the reply, it should've been paid holding the ball. I think Addison did well not to get into his back, or ride him into the ground. Terrible not to reward a great tackle!

At least we walk away with a great win against a mob most of us love to beat!

And this is the greatest thing of all :D:thumbsu:

Just went over to the Norf site, and I can't believe they are asking for Scott's head. Their list just ain't that good, when are they gonna realize this? They have been riding on the coat tails of the Geelong win for the last 4 weeks, and today they stunk of complacency.

Great performance by the guys today, nice to see them all crying on SEN tonight. The supporters have been ringing up non-stop. A few of them on their site are saying we are on par with GWS. That's how stupid they are over there. We're the ones who made 3 consec prelims, not them!

how come you are not red carded yet, im shocked.

For all the knockers of Daniel Cross i hope you are eating your words tonight. What you saw today was exactly what our young players need to aspire to if we are to be a serious contender in the future. He has eyes only for the ball and he puts his body on the line all the time, to play along side Daniel would be likened to being in the trenches and crossy would be the first one over the top when the command was given. Well done Daniel.

Well Said!

Oh and dont forget to remind the Doomsayers on this board about LGilbee in about 10 rounds too. Cant wait when they eat cake on that one either. Lake, Shaggy, Gia, Missy and Minson all finished according to some - unbelievable HOW FICKLE WE ARE - u would think some people started following this game yesterday!

Appreciate that we shouldn't gloat on the Norf board but allow me the indulgence of gloating on ours.

Here's a quote from some North supporter called The Daws of Perception. Posted yesterday:

"
They are shit, we'll pump them and I tell you what, I wouldn't have wanted some of you naysayers, begrudgers and Jimmy Crywolves beside me on the Kokoda Track. "

How SWEET it is.

No point posting anything on the Norf board.

They're doing a pretty good job of smashing the team & each other ATM :D

Who saw Crossy out run 2 kangas play near the wing to win the ball?

I was shocked it was Crossy, he looked rather quick :D:thumbsu:.

Loved his game as usual...his courage is close to none in the competition. Absolute jet :thumbsu:

Loved the courage he displayed constantly getting into the hole in front of Petrie :thumbsu:

Great game to watch today. The way Griffen is playing right now, he's looking like Judd in his prime. Its such a shame we will never see him and Cooney playing together at their best. Griffen's inside 50's are by far the best in the competition.

Vez has been itching to bust a game open like he did. A bit more work on his handball and defensive efforts in the air and we'll have a replacement for Murphy. I look forward to seeing him improve over the next 2 years.

The only thing that annoyed me about the game is that we should have won by more. We comprehensively beat North in every facet of the game, but only won by 3 goals.

Obviously the forward line still isn't settled, and i'm fine with that, because I know it will take a bit of time, but it would have been nice to take advantage of how obviously we were beating them.

It's a good feeling when the only thing that annoys you is how much you win by :p

Lots of great performances but for me this game was most important for one reason: Cordy starting to clunk some marks.

I've thought he's been gradually finding his feet up to now - but his confidence should really take a step up after today. Some excellent signs from someone who promises to be an extremely important player for us in the future.

HOW FICKLE SOME ARE

I get annoyed when people assume a handful of people's opinions(which they are welcome to) on Bigfooty is everybody's opinion on Bigfooty.

One could say... it rustles your jimmies?

Congratulations to Brendan for getting the boys up. The effort against the Pies the previous week had a similar intensity but we faded and made errors at critical moments. This week, against North, we were able to complete dismantle and control the game as the stats show. However, this kind of dominance should have resulted in a larger scroeboard win; indicating that our forward line has someway to go.

To me the outstanding feature was our contested marking. I can't recall a game were we so outmarked our opposition in contests - 22 to 8 it's like we summoned the spirit of Gary Dempsey.

We have come to expect strong performances from Boyd and Griffen but we saw some pleasant surprises yesterday:

Dickson's attack at the contest, his marks, and goals showed a marked improvement from his firsts two more hesitant games.

Just as North stepped on the peddle in the 3 rd quarter, I think us scarred Bulldog supporters were expecting, I certainly was, North to overrun us. But first Vezpremi and than Austin really stepped up offensively and defensively. The run Vez provided with a link of chained hanballs thru the middle, I thought, really stemmed the ship.

Cross may not have got his normal near 30 touches, but his game was so full of courage and accountability that, to my mind, this was one of his best games for the club. I would love him to have some more confidence in his goal kicking.

Well, it appears Cordy can mark. He knows where to run and he is competitive at ground level. The aerial threat he presented opened up the scoring for Sherman, Higgins, etc.

Minson is really finding his feet and has rediscovered some of that front he as a younger pup.

Not So Good:
I know Higgins has suffered much from injury and perhaps he is nursing himself through the season to build continuity and form. However, he is timid in the contest. He refuses to try to take a mark out front with his hands. Shaun has an abundance of ability but is playing way within himself whether because he is afraid of injury or he lacks confidence. Either way, his current method will almost certainly get him injured. He needs to have a long hard think about his game and rediscover his decision making: when to go in hard and when to not.

Hargrave is much the same as Shaun - very timid. This is less about injury than that he has not had anyone tell him it is unacceptable. For so long we have had an undersized defense and as an almost tall he has known he would continue to get games on the back of questionable effort. Time must be up for this approach. He does not have the evasiveness or the quality of delivery of a Murphy to be an outside defender. He needs to start making body contact in contested situations and he needs find some presence of mind in pressure situation and take that split second to look for a target rather than continuing with his all too common clanger kicks.

But hey, I am happy

Didn't know where to put this so here will do.

Saw Leon Cameron at the footy yesterday and it was great to see his son in a doggy jumper on lol......future father son maybe.

Would love to officially welcome the young fellas Dad back to the Bulldog fold one day as well.

Loving the work of Macca.

I suppose you can't have everything can you.
