Currently in the top 450 with Macrae, Steele, Walsh and Zerrett forming my midfield. Clarry is jumping out as the obvious choice for my first upgrade but need to make ground on the top dogs. Seriously considering bringing in Trac as a POD. Am I crazy??

You're doing well but everyone mentioned has a bye in rd13 or 14......and we're at Rd7..... have no idea of your team makeup ....but probably need to consider that when trading in...

Are you number 449?

Ziebell is already 182 points ahead of Dustbin, and will be at least one game ahead. He could be the top scoring forward by 500 points. Dunkley was his only competition.
Fine if you had him from the start. But there is no retrospective scoring.
Bring him in now and role changes and he ave 80 from here out you lose , even though he is top 6 fwd for the year.

Disappointed Dunks went down. Now everyone is grabbing 26% ownership Macrae 😥
First player picked in my side .......it's hard when you identify a POD and then the PS games come around and "****" they're gone

Anyways ....this weeks trades
Dunkley to Marshall :padlock:.....expect Marshall to spend the majority of minutes on-ball with Ryder underdone
Neale to Walsh :padlock:

Considered your GEEL boy .......but I just couldn't destroy another one of your POD's

I'm still banking on both St Kilda and Carlton coming good .....they can't be this **** all season

Hope you're ready Jiska .....you v me in Tragics .....hope you enjoyed your Top 4 status

Completely agree. My approach in SC is generally to not grab the players that start on fire, as by the time you get them in they slow down and you've paid top dollar and don't get a top return.

My concern with Ziebell from the start was that his current role wouldn't last, but as I started him it's not an issue anymore as I can swap him to anyone if needed.

The other way of looking at it is that there aren't many options up forward and he's in 56% of teams. Averaging 127 and priced at about 100. It's still a good buy given the lack of options imo.

**** I hate shit like this. I have macrae and Zerrett, I avoided Steele cos he's not a proven premo, and Walsh cos I don't like guessing at breakout contenders and went with proven premos - Neale and Jelly. Derailed my season by round 3.

I'm equally parts of both anger and jealousy.

Situation defines the need. Take injury history and previous role out of the equation then he is a must have. Moving from Dunkley to Ziebell now and yeah it works as you are in the same boat as everyone else. Problem is you are then 1 trade behind others if he goes down and haven't had the benefit of the best part of his season.
It's such a hard call and I am more pessimistic than ever this year, given the way I have been set to play the game. GnR all the way so i missed Impey and Tex. Went Rowell to Ziebell rd 2 as my only "midpricer " risk, but even with his scoring now, not sure I could bring myself to do Dunkley to him this week.
That's the fun of the game.🤔🤯

For anyone trading out Dunkley, Ziebell is a must have if they are without him. If he keeps scoring at this rate he'll become un-affordable. It get's hard to trade in $600k+ players later in the season. It will be hard having him as a POD against you if he keeps averaging 120+

Sometimes you have to negate the high ownership players. For me it's Dusty, don't have him and I've got lucky as he will drop a lot in price so not starting him will pay off (I've had other picks go the other way - Ridley, Titch). Will definitely get him when he bottoms out to cancel the POD factor when he starts trying late in the season.

He’s not really a POD and doubt he will be after this round. Seems a lot bringing him in.

Looking at some of the top teams .....my team is better on paper

Just Rookie Roulette luck, and a few weekly hits ......you know, like the Kozi 100 , and Taylor Walker

I prefer this analysis of what is a Premo .....we've used Price as the measuring mechanism, but scoring average is far more accurate

On this measurement, Cripps at an ave of 87 is no longer a Premo .....but Impey is with a 99 ave

On this basis my team has currently 15 Premo's

I still can't decide what to do with Grundy. I'm currently running Gawn and Flynn, I definitely want to get Grundy in at some stage, and I have the funds to get him now, but I feel like Flynn is at least good for a 70, so I could be using that money on a premo on another line to cover a shittruck rookie.

If I got Grundy I'd put Flynn in R3 via Treacy to FWD, which would mean I'd end up running with a FWD line of something like Zieb / Imp / Greene / Bergman / Rowe / Macrae Jr which worries me a bit.

How long can I hold off Grundy for?
