Rip Briztoon we hardly knew ye.

Didn’t hurt nearly as much as the runs of goals the opposition have had against us in previous weeks. At the we were in control of the ball to have 10 shots.

(But i get the sentiment).
Accept it almost did. It was obvious with no bench that the last 40 mins were going to hurt, so seeing us miss the opportunity to be 10 or 12 up, left me almost catatonic.

Take nothing away from Zorko but Andrews kept me sane tonight.

That was an incredible defensive performance considering two of our small defenders were gone by half way through the first quarter. To keep them to only 15 scoring shots for a full game when we were so limited with interchanges was brilliant.

Strong win in trying circumstances.

We can cover the injuries when Bailey , Ah Chee and Ashcroft come back , plus Brain just about ready for a debut.

The backbone of our team is Andrews ,Lester and Wilmot. With Payne and McKenna starting to play better it's a formidable unit.

Zorko was still the one running around at the end like it was the first quarter. I suggested he should retire at the end of last year . Thank God he didn't. Incredible player.

Zorko, Dunkley, Neale, Berry, Lester

Zorko turned the clock back. Amazing performance. Dunkley, Neale and Berry stood up and hard to split Lester and Andrews, but I went for Lester.

I mentioned in the game day thread that if we aren’t already, we need to look at any preventative measures we can take to try and limit these serious knee injuries we’re getting.

Since Will and including Doedee re-injuring his, that’s 5 in 16 weeks, which is unheard of. Would think that’s some kind of unwanted record in Australian sport, not just the AFL.

Thought Oscar was important tonight. Was able to largely neutralise Witts at the ruck contest, and also stop his work at the contest and around the ground. Witts was averaging 15+ disposals and 6+ clearances heading into tonight's game, and only had 5 disposals and 2 clearances tonight.

I was also impressed we were able to get our pressure rating to 199 in the third quarter given we were down to 2 (and Morris) on the bench.

I couldn't quantify it off the top of my head but ACLs in womens sport are regularly this frequent if not worse. Always far too many of them in AFLW and women's soccer has a lot as well. There's quite a bit of ongoing research into why it is so much worse than the men's sports.

Every single player played their role tonight. Dug deep. Inspirational stuff.

Oscar was fantastic in the ruck.

You know it was a brave performance when 3KZ doesn’t even mention mulligans

We've got a week to recover and get to Adelaide and will need every day of it.

Then we have the bye. So just set ourselves for a take no prisoners effort next Sunday and with the bye the week after we should be in a lot healthier position.

No more injuries please, we've had our share this year surely.

Yeah I knew in women’s sports it was quite high but haven’t heard of a run like this in men’s competition.

One did raise the question about the Gabba surface on Twitter. Hard to argue that there might not be something in that. Will, Kiddy, tonight’s 2. Don’t know if they were training there in Doedee’s case. Docherty also did his there in round 1 too.

Who even comes in next week for our injured players? Starcevich and Ah Chee (if fit). Lyons, Fort, Tundtill I guess? I don’t see us blooding any other youngsters for a little while

FYI we play Adelaide, Richmond and the Hawks and then we have a bye on the weekend of the 1st June.

First of all we won at home. We are back baby.
We did look like we were going to beat them easy early in the game.
Once the extra injuries struck, it became a case of managing the players gametime as best you can.
Good win in the end under the circumstances.
However, the suns did not look that great during the evening.
A record Q clash crowd was in attendance being 30,285 eclipsing the previous record by 3,115.
